Find Your Perfect Office Chair Online

The time has come to purchase a new office chair and as much as you have browsed through the aisles of your local stores, you still haven't managed to find a chair that meets your needs. You finally gather the courage to ask your friends for any recommendations, and they seem very confident when they say you should make your purchase through an online store. However, this option seems a little tougher, considering that there is no way to actually see, touch or try out the chair. Either way you trust your friend’s recommendation because they will never steer you wrong, but now you ask yourself; what should I look for?

You've already made the right choice by researching first and somehow stumbling on this shopping guide, so now trust our instincts as we lead you through the shopping process.

1. Purpose vs. Benefit

The first thing you should ask yourself if you haven't already by now is what purpose or benefit is this new office chair trying to fulfill. Do you have chronic back pain? Do you sit in your office chair for more than 5 hours a day? Does it need to fit you perfectly? Or better yet, does it need to have ergonomic benefits? Consider these questions as well as others when you are trying to narrow down your options between chairs. As you go down the list of features your new chair must have, you will naturally know what to look for and what chairs to compare from one another.

2. Price

In most instances, price is the deciding factor on whether you will ultimately make the purchase or not, but in other cases the price can be justified by what you receive in the long run. Going back to the list of features you made in the previous step, you should know that some of those features come standard in all office chairs, but others don’t, and most likely will add to cost of the chair. There are eCommerce sites where you can build a custom-made chair to fit your needs, but as you add or remove functions, the price will fluctuate accordingly. It’s important to stay true to what you need and not be heavily persuaded by the price. Think of your office chair as an investment, in fact considering some of the warranty policies by some manufacturers, it is practically an assured investment such as a lifetime warranty or even a 10 year warranty. Understand that some features like an ergonomically-fit chair is worth the investment. Once you’ve come to that conclusion compare the right chair on shopping comparison sites like Shopping.com. Compare chairs that are alike in function and benefit, not just on a generic term like office chair.

3. eCommerce Site Credibility

Finally, you have narrowed it down to quite a few options, but shopping online is not your forte, so what should you consider when shopping online? Look for some of these factors when you are browsing through a site:

  • Are there any methods to contact customer service? That can mean several things number like a customer service phone number, an email address, or a live chat representative.

  • Has the site been reviewed? Look for customer testimonial on the site or even through other customer review sites, but don't forget to look for product reviews on the chair you are considering buying.

  • How flexible is the return policy? Shopping online is not easy, you want to feel comfortable with a return policy that allows you to test out your office chair and return it if you find that it wasn’t right for you.

The process may have been dreadful at first, but hopefully you have done enought research to feel comfortable with your purchase. Good Luck & Enjoy!
