Guide to Favorite Beanie Babies Collectibles

USA Bear is patriotic with his fuzzy red, white and blue fur. He has a USA patch on his chest and a red, white and blue striped ribbon around his neck. His Ty2000 tag reads: From this land of liberty, Comes this bear for you and me, Proud to wear red, white and blue, He'll be a special friend for you. I think the poets at Ty were having an uninspired day when they penned that one... but the July, 4th bear is certainly cute enough.

Peace Tie Dyed Bear is charming with his green, blue, orange, yellow and pink hues. He has the peace sign embroidered in rainbow colors on his chest. My Peace Bear is not as well stuffed as the average Beanie Bear. But, I love his colorful appearance.

Mum the Pink Bear is sparkly and sits up nicely on her own. My Mum has a white leather collar with a blue, purple and pink flower attached. She also has three lilac-hued tulips embroidered on her chest, and a pink ribbon attached to the bouquet. Other than those embellishments, Mum is rather plain but pleasant. Her tag reads: She always looks at me with pride, When I'm in need she's at my side, She cares for me and she's my chum, And that is why I love my Mum!

2001 Signature Bear is the best looking bear in my collection. She is slightly bigger and better stuffed than the others. She looks like a new and improved version, being from 2001. She sits up nicely and has a 2002 heart patch stuck to her chest and a purple ribbon tied in a bow around her neck. Her body is plush lavender with blue and yellow decorations and gold polka dot sparkles everywhere. She's definitely a cute collectible!

These whimsical Ty Beanie Baby creatures are some of my favorites because they are more original in design than some of the plainer cats, dogs and birds.

Swoop the Pterodactyl has crystal clear eyes, amazingly long, craggy wings and a pointy head. His pink-lined beak actually opens, which makes him the best flying creature I own. His slightly irridescent body is mottled tan and vibrant emerald green. A very cool character!

Rainbow the Chameleon comes in different colors. Mine combines dark blue and green fur with a pointed crest around the neck and curly tail. His tag reads: Red, green, blue and yellow, This chameleon is a colorful fellow, a blend of colors his own unique hue, Rainbow was made especially for you! Not sure why mine has no red, but he's still fairly charming design though I wish he was brighter.

Iggy the Iguana features a frilly green spine and curly tail. Iggy comes in several fur color variations. My Iggy is tie-dyed light green and sky blue, with beady red eyes and a red line where his mouth should open. I do love Iggy's tag poem: Sitting on a rock, basking in the sun, Is this Iguana's idea of fun, Towel and glasses, book and beach chair, His life is so perfect without a care. Even his name, Iggy, is perfect!

Glow the Lightning Bug offers lots of detail for a bug! He has three different colored irridescent furs on his body, green, tan and orange. His green head has bright blue button eyes and a red beady nose. He has six orange legs which don't really hold him up that well. His irridescent orange wings are quite stunning. Glow's tag reads: To find me when you want to play, Look for my light to guide the way, I'll be the brightest in the park, I'm the Beanie that Glows in the dark! Glow's eyes do glow in the dark ~ I never noticed that before!

Flitter and Float, Beanie Babies Butterflies. Flitter the Butterfly combines lavender with pastel pink, green and yellow wings and a pink body. Float the Butterfly has a chartreuse green body with tie-dyed pink, green and blue wings rimmed with black and bright green dots. Float is my favorite, but I couldn't find him in the catalogue. Flitter's tag says: I did not know what I was to be, Covered in fuzz it was hard to see, Now a butterfly, what a beautifyl sight, On silken wings I take to flight. Ty's poet was definitely inspired that day!

Scoop the Pelican stands out among Beanie Babies Birds with his giant, stuffed orange beak. His body is a drab, blue-gray color, but that really sets off his beak and webbed feet. Scoop has a great sillouhette, so I display him facing sideways. Scoop's tag reads: All day long he scoops up fish, To fill his bill is his wish, Diving fast and divig low, Hoping those fish are very slow.

Goochy the Jellyfish is kind of a slouch. He is as relaxed and freeform as a real jellyfish might be. Only he's not transparent ~ his irridescent pink and green body is as soft as Beanie Babies have to offer. His eyes are flat patches, and he has ten tentacles which flop around. Goochy lost his tag, so I can't report on his jellyfish poem.

Quackers the Duck is simply adorable with his bright yellow body and organge webbed feet and bill. He has a cartoonish expression on his face with just two beady black eyes and raised eyebrows. Does a duck have eyebrows in real life? I doubt it, but Quackers really charms and delights me. His tag reads: There is a duck by the name of Quackers, Every night he eats animal crackers, he swims in a lake that's clear and blue, But he'll come to the shore to be with you! #1 Cuteness Award goes to Quackers!

Smoochy the Frog is chartreuse green with golden webbed feet and throat. His buggy eyes are green with black pupils, and he's got a red line where his froggy mouth should open wide to catch flies. Unfortunately, his mouth remains closed, and he looks very hungry to me. He's posable in a few different positions. Smoochy is mildly cute, but could have had a bit more character to love in order to be kissable, in my opinion. His tag says: Is he a frog or maye a prince? This confusion makes him wince. Find the answer, help him with this, Be the one to give him a kiss!

Political Plushies: Lefty and Righty are equally cute ~ how can that be? I would vote for either one of them. The pair is just darling together... I would never split them apart.

Lefty the Donkey sits on his hind quarters and is nicely stuffed. His plush body has a patchwork of blue with white stars, white with red and blue stars, red and white stripes and black accents. His mane and tail are whte and red yarn. Lefty 2000's tag reads: This November make a note, The time has come for you to vote, Pick me when you have to choose, i'm a Beanie, you can't lose!

Righty the Elephant is made of the same patchwork plush as his cousin, Lefty. He also sits nicely and has big ears and a long snout that points upward. His tag reads: On and on the race will go, Who will win we just don't know, No matter how this all will end, You will always be my friend! Kind of a Seussical poem, don't you think?

All these Ty Beanie Baby Birds have about the same form, with simple webbed feet, tails and wings. Their coloring makes them different, although Puffer has a puffier beak than the others.

Jabber the Parrot is primary colored with red body, blue and green wings, yellow feet and black and white striped patch around the eyes.

Early the Robin is a plain brown bird with a red breast and brownish beak.

Rocket the Blue Jay is a pretty blue and white color with a black beak and long blue tail. Blue Jays are my favorite birds to spot in the wild, so I have a special place in my heart for him!

Puffer the Puffin is the biggest of these Beanie Baby Birds, with stunning white, black and bright orange-red beak. Puffer's tag says: What in the world does a puffin do? We're sure that you would like to know too, We asked Puffer how she spends her days, Before she answered , she flew away! Too bad, I would really like to know more about Puffins than Ty poet let on...

Beanie Buddies are bigger versions of Beanie Babies. Pinky the Beanie Buddy is about 11 inches tall, with 7 inch legs that dangle from his sides. She has a hot pink plush body and wings, light pink legs and behind the wings, and a bright orange beak. Pinky sits straight and tall when you position her legs just right. She has a plush body that's soft and huggable. Pinky the Beanie Buddy needs a little friend, and her identical Beanie Baby Pinky is the perfect companion. Little Pinky is 6 inches tall with 5 inch legs. Little Pinky is not as plush, but is still soft. Little Pinky can sit on her own, but enjoys being cuddled by her Buddy. I'm not sure why the Buddy costs less than the Beanie Baby, but the pair is adorable!

Bushy the Lion reminds me of Disney's Lion King. His fur is tangerine orange and yellow combined,  with a woolly mane and tail-burst in fiery gold and hot pink. His eyes are golden-rimmed black, and his nose a soft tan. Bushy's tag says: I won't roar - I'll purr instead, So always pat me on the head, A cuddly kitten I promise to be, if you'll come over and play with me! My kids played with Busy often, and he's more worn than most. He sits up nicely and his friendly grin just begs to run and play!

Ewey the Lamb is charming as only a baby lamb could be. Her fur is textured and her face pale pink with a pink nose and black eyes. Her tag poem could not be sweeter: Needles and yarn, Ewey loves to knit, Making sweaters with a perfect fit, Happy to make one for you and me, Showing off hers for all to see. Ewey was well loved by my kids for her innocence and huggable texture.

Niles the Camel is a one-humped wonder. He reclines in a ready-to-ride position, with legs splayed out front and a bushy hump in back. His face is sculpted like a real camel's face. A good addition to any collection to represent the desert.

Roam the Buffalo is a must for any CU Buffs fan or CU Buffaloes mini-fan. He has dark bown textured fur and little tan horns. Roam has a decent poem on his tag: Once roaming wild on the American land, Tall and strong, woolly and grand, so rare and special is this guy, Find him quickly he's quite a buy!

Purr the Cat is an attractive style of Beanie Baby cat which I like better than my other Beanie cats. His dark and light grey mottled body is soft and his eyes a piercing green with black pupils. I have the beanie baby, not the Beanie Buddy pictured above, so mine is smaller. Purr reposes in a natural position with all four feet to one side. He looks pensive as if he's not quite napping or playing, just hanging around for the fun to begin.

Rover the Red Dog is pretty close to Clifford without infringing any copyrights. He's fire engine red, with black beady eyes and nose and long ears. He grins from one long ear to the other! Rover's tag says: This dog is red and his name is Rover, If you call him he is sure to come over, He barks and plays with all his might, But worry not, he won't bite!

Regal the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is as sweet as all Cavalier dogs can be. His expressive eyes are brown with black pupils. His ears and tail are fluffy and furry, just slightly in need of grooming ~ totally charming! His head is tilted slightly, just like a real Cavalier stalking a chameleon or bird outside. Regal is one of the more realistic Beanie Babies. His tag says: It's not easy being King, I just want to do my thing, I would rather jump and play, Than sit on my throne today!
