Your buying guide to GREEN reusable lunch bags and accessories your kids will love!

With so many options available for packing your childs lunch, shopping for the best products can be overwhelming. With the state of our planet I believe that it is important to reuse and recycle whenever possible. I've had the opportunity to try many green usuable lunch bags and accessories and the products in this guide are my favorites for their ease of use, durability and price point as well as my childrens favorites for the fun designs and their cool factor at school!

One of the first reusable lunch products that I had the opportunity to try was the Go Green Lunchbox. First off, I must tell you this lunch kit is AMAZING and has been a favorite of both my older kids because of all its features. The Go Green Lunchbox is a great option for children of all ages and comes in many different designs that suit older kids and younger kids alike as well as both boys and girls.

The actual lunchbox is soft sided and covered in a vinyl or plastic coated cloth which is easy to disinfect and wipe clean as needed to keep it looking its best. The Go Green Lunchbox is insulated to keep your child's lunch cold and opens by zipper around the sides of the box. On the inside of the box you will find a mesh pocket for your child to keep any utensils they might need or even milk money. One of the things I most like about the Go Green Lunchbox is the white wipe off board that you can use a dry erase marker to write your child a daily note to be discovered at lunch. What child doesnt love a little note letting them know how special they are?

Inside the Go Green Lunchbox you will find the large food container. This container is large and fills up the entire inside of the Go Green Lunchbox. The food container is able to be removed completely from the box and filled with your childs favorite lunch. With five seperated compartments there is room for your child to have a delicious and balanced meal.  Inside the food container you will also find a stainless steel bottle for your childs favorite drinks. I believe the bottle holds about 8 ounces. The Go Green Lunch box food container locks closed to keep all of your childs food items seperated as they should be. The locking mechanism is secure but easy enough for your child to open on their own each day. I think this is a very reasonable price for the quality of the product you receive. Another of my family favorites when it comes to reusable lunch accessories are Reusies. If you have never heard of these fantastic reusuable lunch bags, then please read on. This fantastic reusable baggies are perfect for packing sandwiches and snacks. Made of cloth and close with velcro, Reusies are a wonderful idea in reusable lunchtime  accessories. Available in two sizes, they can be used for about any of your lunch time solid foods. Whether sandwiches, cookies, crackers, chips or snacks, Reusies will help your family keep from using plastic baggies and sending them to the landfills. Reusies are really easy to clean too! You can wash your Reusies in the dishwasher, washing machine or just wash them by hand with a soapy sponge and let air dry.  Reusies are available in many different patterns and colors so you have plenty of choices available for your childrens lunchtime needs. At $16 for a two pack of one sandwich size and one snack size, Reusies are an easy and inexpensive way to make a responsible change in your routine that helps the planet.

 My youngest son's favorite reusable lunchbox is the Yubo! The yubo is a hip and stylish lunchbox that resembles the lunchboxes from yesterday but with lots of great features that make it perfect for todays child. The yubo lunchbox is made of hard plastic and is available in many different designs to suit your childs taste. My sons Yubo is currently in the dinosaur style seen in the photo above. Currently you might wonder? The great thing about the Yubo is that you can change the faceplates of the Yubo to suit your child as often as you like! Face plates for the Yubo are sold seperately so you can pick up new styles as often as you like. Personalized and photo faceplates are also available. I love that this lunchbox can grow and change with your child as their taste changes as they age. I also love that the Yubo is dishwasher safe and being made of plastic is super easy to clean!

Finally, one of my more recent discoveries for great reusable lunch items for children is the Wrap-n-Mat. The Wrap-n-Mat is just what the name implies. A wrap that you can wrap up your sandwich or snacks in that when unfolded gives your child a clean eating surface they cand spread their lunch out on to eat. The wrap-n-mat is not only great for school lunches but also picnics and outdoor eating. The wrap-n-mat is available in many different designs for kids of all ages and are easy to use. These wraps are also easily hand washed and ready for use the next morning! The Wrap-n-Mat is also available in a wide variety of sizes for all of your lunchtime needs from your regular size sandwiches and snacks to large subs and wrap sandwiches, the Wrap-n-Mat will hold them all! These reusable lunchtime products have made a great difference in the way my kids lunches are packed. They love that their lunch bags are stylish and I love that they are easily washed and reused. It makes me feel good that my boys are already seeing the little things that you can change in your daily routine to help the planet, and having a family of five these little changes really add up!
