Dogswell Products
This Guide Is for you if you want to improve the quality of your little dog's diet, and you don't mind spending a few extra bucks. Lots of people around here seem to be big on Blue Buffalo, and other similar brands, and my Pawpa buys me this stuff, and I think it all tastes really really good. That's important too, because once one of my buddies' owners offered me 'n 'Rowdy (our old Rescue Russell) some off brand of "all natural" dog cookies. We were in the woods at the time. I spit mine out, and Rowdy even ran away and ate a piece of coyote poop instead. I promis you that theseĀ are much better than coyote poop.
MMMMMM Lamb-- It's kind of funny to watch a mutt eat mutton. I like these treats a whole lot. Just like most of the other Dogswell treats, these come in a jerky form. That makes it fun for me to chew on them. These are the Happy Hips line which is the treats with Glucosamine and Chondroitin added for joint health. That's really really important fror the big dogs too. One of Pawpa's old hound dogs had hip displays or somethin' like that, and the glucosamine made him feel a whole lot better. I just like the flavour.
MMMM Chicken-- If you've ever watched that English dog trainin' lady on TV, Twiggy or Vicky, or whatever her name is, you know that she uses chicken to train dogs. Lets face it. Chicken is one of our all time favourites. These are supposedly made from cage free chickens, so some other lucky dog got to chase them around before they got cooked. At least I get to eat 'em, and boy do they taste good. These "Vitality" ones have stuff in 'em to make our coats and skin and eyes healthier, like flaxseed oil and vitamins. I just like the chicken, but I guess that other stuff is okay too.
Makes me Daffy--Now Duck is something I wasn't sure I was gonna like at all. Turns out I like it at least as much as chicken, and sometimes even more. The mint that's been added is supposed to get rid of Halley's Toeses. I don't know who Halley is or why you care about her toes, but my Pawpa says it does make my breath smell better. Somwtimes I don't understand you humans. Sometimes a little stinkiness is a very good thing. Ask any dog and they'll tell you the same. This stuff did give my mouth a little tingle at first, but I got used to it.
My Oh My--Sweet Potato Pie -- Well not really, it's more like veggie jerky. A lot of people have no idea how much their little dogs love sweet potatoes. I'm here to tell you that we adore them. My Pawpa once had a hound dog he loved who was slowly dying from cancer. He and Mommie started making him his very own special brand of dog food with deer meat, brown rice, and sweet potatoes. It didn't make him better, but it sure made him feel better. They say he ate that with the same type of appetite he had in his younger days. I started eating sweet potatoes on my very first Thanksgiving with them. If you are really really picky about what your little dogs eat, you need to try sweet potatoes. They are so yummy, and so good for us too.
I really don't want to sound like a commercial for just one brand of stuff. I've eaten lots of different brands of Chicken Jerky. Most of them are pretty darned good. I just like the fact that you can get all different kinds of this brand for all different kinds of reasons. Besides, the consistency of quality is almost unmatched in a world full of trashy treats for dogs.
