The 4 BEST face washes on the market!
I have tried just about every face wash out there, and will continue to do so. This is my top 4 favorite list with some honorable mentions. I will go over each one and what each facial cleanser does and how it functions.
1. My absolute favorite facial cleanser is by Derma E, it is Derma E's Glycolic Facial Cleanser with Marine Plant Extacts. I particularly like this product because of the high amount of glycolic acid they put into this face cleanser. The glycolic acid is a natural slougher of the skin, so I have no need to exfoliate after using glycolic cleanser, it sort of does dual purpose (of cleaning the skin and exfoliating). I like to rub it onto my skin (face) after wetting it and letting it sit for a minute or two to do its work. It feels like a cross between a gel and a cream and there is almost no lather (but this is a good thing). The feel is very MOISTURIZING. Sometimes you can feel a bit of a tingle and then I rinse it off. My skin will feel flake-free and squeaky clean. This really cleans out pores and glycolic acid is AWESOME for battling acne. It's by far my favorite treatment (the glycolic). It's only an added plus they add sea algae (which is really good for the skin). By exfoliating the skin, my skin creams can soak into my skin a little better.
The ingredients are; Purified Water, Chamomile Extract, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Glycolic Acid, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth 20, Spirulina, Sea Weed, Aloe Vera Gel, Hydroxyethyl Cellulose, Sodium Hydroxide, Citricidal, and Phenoxyethanol. It's a little spendy at $9.97 for an 8-ounce bottle, but the cap flips open easily and lasts me (and my husband) a good 3 months of combined use. It has went up about a dollar in price recently and sells for around $11-$12 in other stores. It's worth every penny.
2. Purity Made Simple by Philosophy. This is expensive, but it works great. I love some of Philosophy's products and this is one of the great ones. It smells funky at first, but that's because it has natural ingredients in it (you get used to the smell). It is just amazing in how it works. I put a nickle or quarter size dollup in hand and rub together onto my face with water. There's a little lather (not a huge amount) and then I wipe with a wet cloth. It really takes off eye makeup, and makeup like no other facial cleanser I have ever seen. My skin and pores are tight and cleansed, and squeaky clean after using this. My pores are cleaner than ever after using this. It is quite expensive at $40 per a 24-ounce bottle, but it lasts quite awhile. It works well followed up with Hope in a Jar by Philosophy.
The ingredients are; water, sodium lauroamphoacetate, sodium trideceth sulfate, meadowfoam seed oil, coco-glucoside, coconut alcohol, peg-120 methyl glucose dioleate, aniba rosaeodora (rosewood) wood oil, geranium maculatum oil, guaiac (guaiacum officinale) extract, cymbopogon martini oil, rosa damascena extract, amyris balsamifera bark oil, sandalwood oil, sage oil, cinnamomum cassia leaf oil, anthemis nobilis flower oil, carrot seed oil, pepper seed extract, polysorbate 20, glycerin, carbomer, triethanolamine, methylparaben, propylparaben, citric acid, imidazolidinyl urea, and yellow 5. Not exactly natural, but still has some nice ingredients in it and really does the job of what it's supposed to do: CLEAN!
3. Avon's Clearskin Pore Penetrating Invigorating Scrub. My husband loves this stuff. It has Eucalyptus oil in it, witch hazel and menthol and that combination gets your skin TINGLING like mad! It has little scrubbies in it, that work so well to clean. The cleanser is blue, it really scrubs and cleans. This is more than little bead scrubs that do nothing as far as scrubbing, and smaller and more effective than big chunks of apricot seed or walnut hulls (which hurt). This is like gentle sugar or fine salt. This has a lot of chemical ingredients, but even so, this is a favorite in my household. The price is right (it used to be around $4 for 2.5 ounce tube, but now it's $6.49 (this has gotten a bit steep from the economy). I suggest not to pay that price, but wait for an Avon sale, like buy one get one free, or buy one get one for a buck and so on. They have sales monthly.
4. 100% Pure's Skin Brightening Facial Cleanser. This is NATURAL (with organic ingredients) and good for the skin. It comes in a foaming bottle and squirts out onto the hand (I use two pumps for the entire face) and you just smooth it into the skin. It's already foamed, so I'll use my hand, face cloth or a facial brush to scrub it into the skin. It smells like FRESH SQUEEZED LEMONS, and is quite invigorating.
The ingredients are; Organic aloe juice, organic rose water, lemon juice, saponified coconut oil, sake, bearberry extract, kojic acid, extracts of strawberry, raspberry and licorice root, vitamin C, extracts of pomegranate, pineapple bromelian, papaya papain and cranberry fruit, pink grapefruit, lemon peel oil, and Japanese Honeysuckle extract.
This facial cleanser is $19 for 6 ounces and lasts me about 2-3 months. It gets my face squeaky clean, I've also got it in my eye are without any issues. It's gluten-free, natural and vegan. No crazy preservatives or chemicals, I just love it! It doesn't necessarily brighten my skin, but it cleanses it well.
HONORABLE MENTIONS: Cetaphil Cleanser, and Serious Skin Care's Olive Oil Cleanser.
