Beautiful and Creative Holiday Gift Wrap Ideas
Even a simple, inexpensive gift can have a huge impact when it is beautifully and elegantly wrapped and presented. If you are in a rut and looking for some new ways to jazz up your holiday gifts, here are some ideas to add a little "oomph", that are easy to do, look gorgeous and professional, and will be sure to please. Even if you are "gift wrap" challenged, you will find these simple and easy.
Yankee Candle Balsam & Cedar Potpourri is not something you might consider when gift wrapping, but there is SO much you can do with this lovely and highly scented potpourri.
Try taking one of the smaller pinecones, and/or some of the greens, and tying them in the bow of your gift wrap. Not only does it add interest and texture, but a lovely holiday scent as well.
If you are packing up a box of gifts to mail, add some of the potpourri in as part of the packing material. When the recipient opens the box, they are greeted with that fabulous, fresh holiday scent.
If you are making up a gift basket as a present, using some of this potpourri as part of the basket will make it look and smell extra special.
Wrap your gift and when preparing the ribbon, grab a handful of gift shred and tie it in the ribbon so it becomes the bow. It looks lush and full, and is SO easy to do! With a little creative color choices between the ribbon you are using and the gift shred, you can make a variety of looks and effects.
On plain, solid colored gift wrap, making a gift shred bow in complementary or contrasting colors really makes for a gorgeous looking gift.
Of course gift shred is also the perfect base and filler for gift baskets, or adding as packing or cushioning material.
Sometimes I like to use a more understated Christmas wrap and add some special details to make it unique.
For a more rustic look, use jute or twine as the ribbon and tie a cinnamon stick in the bow. You could also add a pinecone or greens from the Yankee Candle Potpourri to enhance the rustic appeal.
If your gift is, for instance, kitchen related, you might tie a new wooden spoon in the bow. Think of little trinkets or small items related to the gift that you might be able to incorporate into the bow.
To make a matching gift card for your package, simply cut a small oblong from the paper, or perhaps from a scrap you might otherwise throw away. Fold it in half, and you now have a cute, convenient, matching gift card for your package - just stick it on with transparent tape. This way you not only put the scraps to good use, you don't have to purchase extra gift cards.
Gift wrapping can be fun and creative, and simple to do. I hope you've found some of these ideas helpful!
