Kratos Aurion-Tales of Symphonia (GCN)
Kratos isn't the main character in this rpg- that would be his son- but he is one of the major characters. He's the long-lost father of the teenage main character who acts as a mentor to them. Often his actions are incomprehensible, but eventually we find out he did it all for his son

Raguna- Rune Factory Frontier (Wii)
Raguna is a young man who stumbles on a town biried deep in the wilderness. There he's given a farm to eke out a living. He also obtains a sword to tme the wilderness. He eventually meets several marriageable ladies. He can choose between them, get married and eventually have a boy or girl completing his journey.

Hero- Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride (DS)
In Dragon Quest 5 it is presented as a multi-generation tale, we watch the unamed hero as a child traipsing from village to village with his father. The hero with his father gone grows up a slave, but escapes the shackles. ow, a man he must choose a bride and then becomes a father. Eventually the entire family: wife, hero, son, daughter all reunite and fight together to save the world.

Eliwood/Hector- Fire Emblem (GBA)
Eliwood and Hector are two nobles, friends who fight alonside each other along with a cast of others. Deaths of their father and brother each alleviate both men to higher positions of nobility. Through the support system, you can get both married to certain women. The game's epilogue shows each man as a father, thus completing the picture. Additionally once you complete Eliwood's campaign, Hector's campaign opens where he's the main character/lord.
