Four Blushes That Just Don't Work
While my husband and I were on vacation, I somehow misplaced my cosmetic bag along with all my makeup. I have been trying different ones to see which one I would like and which one I wouldn't. I have my list of don't purchase blushes below and I hope they help you in choosing what blushes you want.
Fair, but not long lasting and changes color
This is a very inexpensive blush that is readily available through an Avon Rep. or online at Avon.com.
It is a nice powdery blush that is smooth and silky feeling on the skin. It comes in quite a few colors such as: Classic Aura, Earthen Rose, Antique Rose, Heavenly Pink, and six more colors.
The compact is a very attractive black that has a very small brush and mirror. The blush is made for oily skin. Since I don't have oily, but dry skin both me and a friend tried it. She has oily skin. Even the most minute amount looks like it is way too much and turns colors to a vivid pinkish color on each of us.
The blush isn't like most. When you glide or tap your brush on the powder you get a lot of "crumbs" that you can't possibly use. That is such a waste.
A Cream Blush
I am a fan of cream blushes. They are easy to use and require less product to achieve the look you are wanting. Cover Girl with Olay Regenerist is supposed to stay above the wrinkles and not get into them and make them more noticeable.
The first one of this line I tried was the Plush Peach. There was nothing plush about it. The color isn't peach, but a brownish color that looked like your skin is dirty.
The berry colors are very red on the skin.
When using, use your ring finger and tap it on the blush, then tap on the cheek and blend while tapping. It doesn't take much.
This isn't a blush that I think many will like. I know I don't.
So So Blush
Maybelline Expert Wear is considered a low end cosmetic, but they do have products that are good.
I like a peach color blush because it looks more natural on my fair skin. I tried the Maybelline Exper Wear a Touch of Peach. I have to tell you there isn't any peach in that color, it's more of a rose than peach.
This comes in a black compact without a mirror, but it does have a smallish brush for applying the blush.
The blush is highly pigmented and doesn't crumble when using. You don't get more than you want or need on your blush.
This is a powder blush that goes on easily, but it does change color on your skin during the day. This is something that I can't accept. I want the color I purchased, not something different once it gets on the skin.
This is just a so so blush.
A better so so blush
Revlon has long been a favorite of mine. They have good colors and bad along with blushes that work well and others that just don't cut it.
The powder blush is the least successful of all the blushes that they carry. There are ten diffeernt colors that you can choose from. This is a powder blush that doesn't come with a mirror, but it does come with a brush.
The blush is a soft smooth feeling blush and is easily layerd to get the effect you want. Just know that you layer and layer and layer to get the effect. It isn't highly pigmented so you do have a few problems with it.
The blush doesn't feel comfortable on the skin, but dry and my skin does itch when I have this particular blush on. I don't recommend it to anyone.
