Arthur Wesley was born in Dublin in 1769. In 1798, his aristocratic Anglo-Irish family changed their name to Wellesley. In honor of Sir Arthur Wellesley, Conway Stewart commemorates the Duke of Wellington's life by offering the Willington as a new model within our range of fine quality writing instruments. Wellington is widely considered as one of the leading military and political figures of the first half of the 19th century, a prominent figure in the history of England. Conway Stewart is proud to announce the latest addition to the popular Elegance series. The Plumage is inspired by the past use of large ornamental feathers as quills and the French word for the fountain pen `plume'. As with the previous editions in the Elegance series, the Plumage is constructed of solid precious metal. The hallmarked solid sterling silver cap and barrel are carefully engraved with an intricate pattern and accented by a hand applied rich enamel. The clean sophisticated design draws the eye along both the cap and barrel. Conway Stewart selected vivid light blue and shimmering gray enamel to represent the nature of this element, and the two colors mix fluidly over the crisp guilloche engraving of the barrel.
