The dos flores, or two flowers are formed by brightly colored fabric appliques and detailed embroidery work. Presenting an ode to a red, white and blue color palette, the light blue and rusted red printed fabrics chosen, make this theme softer and more interesting. The flowers feature a style of petite floral and striped fabric that's actually donated, recycled fabric from the United States. An additional ribbon-like trim of alternate white printed fabric, frames the two flowers. The original pattern is created by designer Pamela Nelson, and then it is individually hand stitched together onto the black pillow surface by individuals in a sewing cooperative in Honduras.
