A squirrel who forgot to store nuts for the winter, a bear too restless to hibernate, and an evergreen too crooked to be chosen as a Christmas tree form the band of misfits in this animated rehash of a popular Christmas theme (i.e., everyone has value; beauty comes from within). The animal pair decide to decorate the gentle tree (cheerfully rendered by voice-over veteran Debi Derryberry), starting with a nutcracker they find in a trash can.
