First coin in the Great Canadian Locomotives series Fit for a king and queen, the 2850, a Hudson-type 4-6-4 (four leading wheels, six driving wheels and four trailing wheels) locomotive was built by Canadian Pacific in 1938, and featured a distinctive semi-streamline design.  During their 1939 royal visit, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth travelled from Quebec City to Vancouver aboard the 2850. To mark the occasion, the engine was fitted with a stainless steel boiler jacket and painted silver and royal blue.
