"Hotter than a Black Leather Seat on a Hot Summer Day"
Cars was $14.99 at Hollywood Video, but if we bought 3 movies marked this price, we'd get them all for $25 total. We had never seen cars before and don't normally purchase movies sight unseen. We had 2 movies in our hands and Cars would complete the special price package. My hubby and I both like... Read full review »

Owen Wilson Revs It Up In "CARS"
My husband has been patiently waiting for Cars to arrive via Netflix and frankly I was glad too, because this has almost become a daily question from him asking if it was here. Whew!
Cars is a 2006 Disney/Pixel movie that was released on DVD on November 7, 2006. It is an animated...

Cars (2006) --- Pixar brings Nascar to the Computer Animation World (Owen Wilson, Bonnie Hunt)
Cars is the story of Lightning McQueen, an animated stock-car, racing in the yearly Piston Cup. The Piston Cup is their version of the Nextel Cup prevalent in the world of NASCAR, and the stars of this film are actually the cars themselves. Giving the cars each their own personalities, they take on... Read full review »
Disney / Pixar's Cars - (Blu-Ray Edition)
After my disappointment with Pixar's The Incredibles, I was very stand-off-ish with their latest contribution to the impressive legacy of Disney films, Cars. I wasn't expecting much, but I was more than pleased with Pixar's finished result.
The Plot
In this world created by...

"Hey - that's my lucky sticker!"
I wasn't even going to write about this great movie, but since it has now come on extended cable systems and I have watched it tons of times, I just had to share my thoughts with you!
Cars is a wonderful story about an arrogant race car that falls in love. Lightening McQueen (Owen Wilson)...

Pixar's Cars: Get Your Kicks on Route 66
Lightning McQueen really, really, really wants to win the Piston Cup. Even though he's just a hotshot rookie, he actually has a chance. He gasped his way to a three-way tie with The King (a great race-car in his final year of glory) and Chick (a reprehensible but speedy car who is tired of coming... Read full review »
A Kick on Route 66
I am not now, nor have I ever been a car person. However, I am a diehard Pixar animation fan, so I didn't let the little detail that this movie is set in a world of talking cars affect my desire to see it at all. I knew I had to see it opening weekend. And I am thrilled I did.
The movie is...

Get your kicks on Route 66
I thought I'd shake up my Epinion writing a bit by reviewing a movie and in choosing a movie to review there was no other choice than Cars.
There used to be a time when the movie the kids watched in the car rotated as people got tired. Because I usually only listen to the movies, I...

Lightning McQueen Gets Lost on Route 66
Cars is a cute animated movie. And with all the hype that has been stirring up over it, I wanted to see for myself what this movie was all about. Let me just say, that for an animated film, I loved it.
John Lasseter came up with an idea of making a movie based on cars and to bring light...

Disney Pixar Cars Movie Blu Ray & Dvd 2 Disc Combo Pack
Movie Description IN THEATERS JUNE 9, 2006 John Lassater (TOY STORY, A BUG'S LIFE) brings his Pixar touch to a story of a charming but egomaniacal race car (the voice of Owen Wilson) who finds himself stranded in a small town, where he gets back in touch with his values. Talking cars rediscover the quirky originality of middle America in this inventive animated film from the folks at Pixar (TOY STORY, FINDING NEMO). Owen Wilson does the voice of arrogant rookie racecar Lightning McQueen, who winds up stranded in the small desert town of Radiator Springs on his way west to a big showdown. Sentenced to community service after literally tearing up the road in a high-speed chase, at first all Lightning can think of is getting back to the world of corporate sponsorship and merchandising tie-ins he loves so well. Eventually, however, the eccentric residents of Radiator Springs begin to grow on him, especially the attractive lady Porsche lawyer (Bonnie Hunt) and a rusty old tow-truck (Larry the Cable Guy). There's also a hippie Volkswagen (George Carlin), a low-riding T-bird (Cheech Martin) and Paul Newman as the gruff, curmudgeonly Doc Hudson, the town judge who harbors his own checkered-flag past. The story may not be new, but Pixar's precision- engineered animation brilliantly illuminates the town and its surrounding cactus-studded vistas down to the minutest detail, and director/writer John Lasseter keeps the film's satiric wit and generous heart in perfect alignment. Adults in the audience should appreciate the film's celebration of old-school American eccentricity, and the kids will dig all the thunderous grit and high-octane wheel burning. Randy Newman composed the score; James Taylor sings one of the songs.
