Still new but, loving it
Ease of use. Cleans walls. Efficient.
The Bottom Line:
I would definitely purchase this as it requires less maintenance than the Hayward and does a better job.
I finally broke down and purchased the Baracuda G3 today, after being quoted well over $200 just to repair my old Navigator, which has been repaired and repaired again. All I can say is installation was a snap, as you would expect. There is a little effort required getting the rubber foot onto the frame, but once that was done, it was done. The water pressure gauge showed my pressure is perfect, one of the suspected culprits on the unsatisfactory Navigator.
As soon as the vac was in and running, I fell in love. It immediately went to work, doing a much broader sweep, faster and climbing the walls. We have had three Navigators in this house, this is the first vac that has climbed our pools walls! It is going to corners of our pool that the Navigators consistently neglected. I have even caught it going onto our steps and cleaning them. All of these things never seemed possible with our old cleaners.
A minor difference, but one that I really like, is that this pool cleaner does not require a special hose for attaching the head. All the hoses are the same. When the time comes to replace hoses, making it easier and more practical. The vacuum comes with a hose weight, should you need to adjust how the vacuum rests in the water. In my case, it is perfect without the weight.
With a bunch of cheap plastic but expensive parts on the Navigator, which need frequent replacement, I will never buy one of those again. From what I can tell, this will be a far superior product.
