I love this game, i really do!
The Wipeout series has started to slow down a little after the 64 version came out, there needed to be some definite lift to the series, maybe not exactly in a gameplay aspect, but more in an overall feel. When you look at the Mario Kart series for example, you can never forget it's premiere title... Read full review »
"Wip3out~the return of the game that kickstarted an era"
In 1995 game designer Nick Burcombe and managing directors Ian Hetherington and Jonathan Ellis of Psygnosis and Designers Republic introduced a game that propelled the Sony Playstation console into the lead in the home console race. The reason I purchased a playstation, the simple and ingenious... Read full review »
Wipe it Off Your Christmas List
What happened after the first Wipeout? It is definitely a Playstation classic and a must-have. Complete with futuristic racing and high-tech menus, the game had a rounded theme. You weren't just racing in the future, all the menus looked gave it the feel of a preview of what OS's could be like down... Read full review »
The problem with life at the top, is that there's nowhere to go but down
Of the Playstation's launch titles, I'd have to say that Wipeout was my favorite. I mean, sure, Demolition Derby was fun for a few hours, and blowing stuff up in Twisted Metal kept me busy for a while, but Wipeout, with its great graphics and smooth, fun gameplay, is the only launch title I still... The Greatest Game I Have Known
I bought this game with my doubts and when I first tried it I couldn't stop playing it for a least 1 hour. The game is difficult to actually start off driving but after a couple of turns on Wipeout 3 I was rather good at it and just couldn't stop myself from playing it. There is nothing bad about... Wipeout 3? Another one?
Okay, I missed out on the first two Wipeout games but when I saw the third one at a real low price at my local store (around 9.00) I decided that i'd be a good thing to pick up. Boy was I wrong.
Granted the FMV intro was nice to watch and I thought that would be the way the whole game...

OOHHH YES!
I got one of the original American Playstations many years ago and one of the selling points was this little game called Wipeout. For a 1st generation game, it was amazing, with fast racing graphics that many, including Star Wars Racer, have taken inspiration from. Its soundtrack was perfect for... Read full review »

Wip3out
Crikey dick, this is the go! If anyone ever asks you what PlayStation is about or gives you a hard time about frittering away your weekends on the couch when you could be out getting sunburnt, sit them down with the third instalment in PlayStation?s futuristic, dance music-driven,...

A low-price game that surpasses high expectations
This is my first videogame review and I?ve decided to use the www.videogamespot.com
Rating structure. If one hasn?t tried out any Wipeout games this will get you hooked to the series. Published in Fall 1999, this game looks better than any other Playstation racer and the vehicles don?t even...

The Series Keeps Getting Better
The first time I played Wipeout XL, I thought there should have been more things to do instead of just play in the championship. Then comes Wipeout 64 (for the N64) which presented difficult challenges, along with the arcade mode. Sadly, the championship was left out. Now we move on to Wipeout 3,... Read full review »

Wipeout 3
The futuristic racing series Wipeout has lost some of its steam with this third entry--but Wipeout 3 is still worth a look and a listen. This fast-action franchise has frequently been characterized as being more about style than substance. While we don't necessarily agree with that analysis, it is true that Wipeout 3 can overwhelm the senses with an amazing amount of eye and ear candy. The graphics are simply stunning, while the techno-charged soundtrack boasts some of the top names in electronica, including Chemical Brothers, Underworld, and Orbital. Pulsating rhythms aside, Wipeout 3 offers players a wild ride through eight distinct tracks. It will take more than perpetual motion to make it to the end of each race. In order to complete each timed race, gamers are required to hit strategically placed power ups while navigating many near-impossible turns. The heart-racing action offers a tough challenge for dedicated games, but Wipeout 3 ultimately does not offer any significant improvement over earlier titles in the acclaimed series. --Brett Atwood Pros: Fast-action gameplay Contemporary soundtrack Cons: No significant improvement over previous Wipeout titles
