Getting there
Ok I installed Windows 2000 Professional on my PC. NTFS, the works. Of course it was installed on another partition, leaving Win98SE available, when W2K crashed.

Windows 2000, WinNT But BETTER!

W2K Stability is hardware specific
Depending on the machine you install w2k on, you might end up running with no crashes or lock-ups or you might crash a lot.
No Blue screen of death mind you. The new w2k disease is that the whole machine locks up. No mouse, no keyboard, no CTRL-ALT-DEL, no info on what is going on.

It is the Best Windows Yet !
I have used Win3.0,3.11,95,95B,98,98SE, still have 98SE on one system. Did install Win2000Pro on a BP6 Dual processor system in Feb 2000. This OS is rock solid.
