Pros Stable, fast, USB 2.0, FAT32, TSE CAL, selectable printers in NotePad!!!!
Cons Big, will likely require updating some software
Recommended it? Yes

From a networking consultants point of view

What Win2000 is:

It is by far and away, the most reliable Windows M$ has ever released. In addition, it has great hardware support, and it is the only OS on the market that supports USB 2.0. It also supports FAT32. On a platform that... Read full review »

Pros More stable than the previous versions of Windows. More features than the previous...
Cons Setup and installation can be tricky. Most Win98 drivers and software is not compatible.
Recommended it? Yes

I've used Windows 98 for two years and decided to upgrade to Windows 2000 to see what all the hype was about. After spending a few days getting my drivers configured, everything seems to be going smooth. Two words of advice...1)Make sure you have the Windows 2000 driver for your modem before the... Win 2000 - The latest and greatest

byjlangner Jun 22, 2001

Pros More stable than Win 9X. Better security. User Friendly
Cons Some software incompatability
Recommended it? Yes

I dual boot Windows 2000 and Windows ME. Upgrading from Win Me was slightly a problem. Win 2000 upgrade version will not upgrade from Win Me. You can upgrade but when says can't find proper version you must insert a Win 98 or Win 95 CD. From that point on - No problem. From Dual booting I have... Read full review »

Pros VERY Stable. Never Crashes. Quicker File Access.
Cons Slow DVD and Game Play. SOME Driver support issues.
Recommended it? Yes

I LOVE Windows 2000 Pro. Edition. It is GREAT for video editing because it doesn't crash!...Some drivers aren't supported but most are so that's not a big deal. The fading menus add a different feel than previous versions of Windows. Windows 2000 Pro is a little harder to learn if you are not... Read full review »

Pros Faster, Stable, great driver database
Cons Can be confusing for little experienced users.
Recommended it? Yes

Well where to start.. If you are new to computers or have never used nt this will be a little tougher for you. First thing I like about Windows 2000 is the setup and driver database. Once it was set up I didnt need drivers for anything not even my off-brand modem. Only thing I needed was drivers... Read full review »

The only worthwhile Windows OS

byalan Feb 3, 2001

Pros Stable
Cons Less compatible, perhaps slower
Recommended it? Yes

Win2K is like any other MS operating system, except that it is really and truly more stable. It runs the same software, and by now most new hardware is supported under both the 9x line and 2k. If you like Windows, or have to use Windows, this is the clear choice, however, because of its stability... Read full review »

Pros Stable, stable, stable
Cons none yet
Recommended it? Yes

This is really a jazzed up version of NT!

I have yet to have a crash with this and it works hand in hand with Norton Systemworks 2001...what a team!

I am actually 'evaluating' it right now, and so haven't actually purchased the software...a friend burned me a copy of his for... Read full review »

Pros Very stable, very fast, very user-friendly, simply pleasant to use
Cons Not cheap
Recommended it? Yes

Microsoft has finally done it right: a rock-solid, user-friendly, high-performance OS for the masses. (Gamers beware: many games will not work under the current version of Windows 2000 Professional. You'll have to stick with Windows 98 for now.)

Stability: I just can't sing enough praises... Read full review »

Pros stable,
Cons From MS ;)
Recommended it? Yes

If you wanted a stable OS you could only use it to run a server (Linux, NT, Netware...). For an average user or even a power user that still wants to play some games, do some casual web surfing or just work on some spreadsheets and documents the only useful OS has been Win98.
I truly hoped... Read full review »

Pros STABLE!
Cons Expensive but worth it

This is the best operating system I have seen yet. It is also the most powerful. If you are running Windows you need to be running Windows 2000! It is a STABLE version of Windows. I know you don't believe me but REALLY it is!

I gave this product a 9 out of 10.
