Pros faster, graphically pleasing, easy for the computing illiterate.
Cons not for games, not for 98 users,
Recommended it? Yes

ok, I was lured to actually get this thing and install it, but what can I tell you I dont think it was worth it. I got it for 5 dollars because of a deal my school has worked out with MS, but I really didnt like it. The networking capabilities of win 3k are fantastic. Dial up networking and Network... Falls Short of Expectations.

Pros Delivers what it promises. Reliable and easy to use.
Cons Over Priced for home users. Does not handle multimedia and gaming as well as Windows 98.
Recommended it? Yes

Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional Final falls short of my expectations. The software is on par. But it still does not separate itself from Windows 98 and Windows NT as the hype suggested.

The new Microsoft product was to be built entirely from scratch. An entirely new look and feel that... Read full review »

The OS that hits the Spot

Pros Highly stable; Secure; Easy to network; Very little problems; No activation required
Cons Service Pack problems can make you pull your hair out!
Recommended it? Yes

I'm going to say this outright: I used to be a Windows XP lover. With that said, now I can continue. I just recently switched to Windows 2000 after a measly and ever dissatisfactory outing with Microsoft's touted Windows XP Home. Windows XP Home came with my Alienware (which is the best computer... Pros Great stability, simple interface.
Cons None that I know of so far.
Recommended it? Yes

Lucky lucky me. I recieved Windows 2000 Professional for free. Well, to be honest, not really for "free". I go to college for computers and they gave us a one time use copy for free (but with the amount I pay to go there-is it really free?) haha. Anyways, I originally had Windows ME...UGH. I... My fave OS yet!

Pros Familiar, with ease of use and some "sexy" new features.
Cons Memory hog, slow and incompatible with some software.
Recommended it? Yes

Having used almost all incarnations of the Windows Operating System, I have to say that Windows 2000 Professional is my favorite. I like the look, I like the feel and I like the way it works, both on a LAN and off.

As a System Engineer, I find Windows 2000 Pro to be the end-user OS of... Read full review »

Cons Has some bugs..

I am using Windows 2000 since it launched.
My very first impression was great at all.
I will offer my experience with Windows 2000 Pro, step by step from the very beginning.

When I got the CD with Windows 2000 Professional, I first wondered if it would be so bad to install as... Read full review »

Good OS will only get better

Pros Extremely stable. Much improved over Windows NT 4.0
Cons Iffy gaming and hardware support; expensive
Recommended it? Yes

OK, you've probably read all the other reviews of Windows 2000. I won't bother to compare Windows 2000 with Windows 95, 98, 98SE, and ME because we would really be comparing apples and oranges.

What are the major benefits of Windows 2000? Well, first off, this is the most stable OS ever... Read full review »

Pros Very stable
Cons Too expensive (full version, no discounts)
Recommended it? Yes

As a long time user of Windows NT, I was glad to finally be able to upgrade to a new O/S. Although it still takes way to long to install, Windows 2000 Pro can be installed without the wasted time installing service packs 3,4,5, etc.
There were a few "bugs" in the system at first, but I was able... Read full review »

Pros Fast, Stable, Good Feature Set
Cons Very Few (64 MB ram Min, some newer video cards not supported)
Recommended it? Yes

I have been using Windows 2000 Professional since public Beta 2. It was a little flaky back then, but let me tell you that it is now rock solid. This is the best OS that I have seen on an intel platform.

It surprised me that it felt faster than 98 and NT on my system (200 MHZ 64MB ram) and... Read full review »

Pros Robust OS
Cons Reformatting sucks.

I tried very hard to like windows 2000 profesional I really did. But since I have bought it I have had nothing but trouble.

When I got home after purchasing it I was all excited. I tried to install it only to restart 4 times because I got a "fatal error" at 78% completion.
