Pros Easy to use. Pretty much "just works".
Cons No map updates. Flimsy mounting bracket. Awkward shut-down.
Recommended it? No

I've had one of these for about a year and a half. It works reasonably well most of the time. However, the maps were out-of-date when I bought it and Whistler has yet to release new maps. As a result, I find myself having to check Google Maps for the real location, then entering a nearby... Read full review »

Pros Excellent reception and performance, quick start time, accurate navigation
Cons Lacking in features, buggy, volume for spoken directions is low.
Recommended it? Yes

The soon-to-be defunct Comp USA was auctioning these and I got a refurb unit for under $90!

This is a unit that serves 3 functions: As a GPS used to navigate while driving a car, as an MP3 player, and as a JPG viewer. The main function is as a GPS, so first I'll review the other two... Read full review »

Pros Nice graphics, packaging, antenna. Battery backup so works while unplugged or leave on...
Cons Buggy software. Ask for latest patches!
Recommended it? Yes

For me, this device worked for about 4-months and then suffered severe file corruption and wouldn't work until I contacted technical support. I also experienced occasional smaller file errors while switching between screens during normal use.
When the unit crashed the company was helpful and... Read full review »

Pros Great unit and price. Very accurate, no detectable lag time. Great battery life.
Cons Requires you to exit out of the nav program before shutting it off.
Recommended it? Yes

I recently purchased this handy little GPS from Woot.com for only $244. Regardless of the price paid, this is an amazing unit! Right out of the box I was able to lock on to satellites from inside the house. The female voice is clear and loud enough to be heard over the CD player. The system is very... Read full review »

Pros Very accurate. Easy to setup and use. Voice prompts in good time. priced right.
Cons There was a softwear problem. It lost location. But reboot and it worked flawlessly again.
Recommended it? Yes

This is my first GPS unit and I am very happy with it. The maps are very accurate. I use it on a vacation and, it took me to where ever I asked it to go. The POI's were very helpful, with finding restaurants and tourist attractions. If you deviate from your rout it remap's very quickly and gets you... Read full review »

I was able to pick up a WGPX-550 at Compusa for $249 after $100 rebate. I choose the unit mainly based on low price, but was extremely happy to discover that its navigation software is iGuidance.

My main navigation system for the past 3 years has been an older version of iGuidance... Read full review »

Pros Excellent portability. Good size, shape, display and audio. Advanced warning of upcoming...
Cons Slow cold boot. Travel bag (separate purchase) is a must.
Recommended it? Yes

I've had my WGPX-550 for about a month and have used it both in my local area (Atlanta) and while traveling around the country.

The unit is small enough to put in your shirt pocket. Its rectangular shape and slim design make this easy.

A full battery charge should get you about... Read full review »
