It saved our carpet and drywall!
Had a runny toilet. One morning, forgot to jiggle the handle. Having drainage problems that day = water everywhere! 1 inch deep in the bathroom. The hallway carpet - you could drop a penny on it and it would have gone "splash" it was so deep.

There Better Buys For Your Money
I picked one of these up a Lowe's yesterday and plugged it in today. After 9 hours or so in a 900 sq. ft. single floor place, it had dropped the humidity (measured 8 ft from humidifier) from 52 to 49 percent... and I honestly think turning on the air-co may have been the real reason for the drop...
