WCW Mayhem for Nintendo 64

"EA slickly picks up the baton from long-time WCW license holder THQ and delivers a solid pecs Pak in its first-ever grunting-and-grappling game. EA has wisely stuck with a tried-and-true grappling engine, which is what helped make monster hits out of THQ's two non-Nitro WCW games, WCW/nWo Revenge and WCW vs. nWo: World Tour. The beauty of this engine is that it's very easy to learn. For every wrestler, the A Button launches a kick, the B Button grapples, and the C buttons are used for specials, punches and taunts. Because wrestler movement is controlled with the Control Pad, not the Control Stick, EA took the unusual step of using both the R Button (for running) and the L Button (for blocking). "

On tv, they said that this game was the best wrestling game ever made and it would make history. With a new company making the game I thought cool. I bought it and played it and was very dissapointed.

The graphics on this game are pretty good. You can tell who the wrestlers are. When I... Read full review »

Ever wondered what it would be like to have each of your fingers broken in several places with a Toffee Hammer?

Well, some bright spark at EA obviously did, carrying that concept forward and actually building a control system out of it, but that's not all, oh no, they also thought very... Read full review »

I bought WCW Mayhem because of all the fun I had with WCW Revenge and WCW vs. NWO World Tour.

Control: (1/5)
Wrestling is supposed to be a fast-paced, physical battle that takes lots of turns and excite with many different moves.
In mayhem, executing moves were difficult, and when... Read full review »
