A MENACE TO THE SPEED TRAP!!
The Valentine One has progressed to the point where it a traffic officer's biggest pain in the neck. No longer can Traffic Police broadcast their X band radar while sipping coffe and Dunkin Donuts.
Now, due to Valentine One's unbelievable detection performance, Officers must use Ka band or at...

The Ticket Preventer??
Why are arrows both a pro and a con?
The older V1 units provided excellent help via the arrows in locating the threat. The only instance where v1 was a bit misleading was when the signal would bounce all around causing the side arrow to light up even though the threat was still actually ahead...

What a joke !
I know, there is a cult of Valentine One owners who will frown upon this review. But this review is for all those who, just like me about 1,5 ago, are looking for top of the line radar detector and are ready to spend some serious dough on it. So, I have read Car & Driver reports, read Epinions... Read full review »
New 1.8 V-1
This is a grate detector, or at least the new one with the 1.8 version software upgrade is. I have owned a Passport 8500 for about a year now and it is a good detector. But the new V-1 beats it in a big way. This new V-1 picks up K, KA, X, Laser, instant on and KU if you live out of the US. It has... Read full review »
V1 - #1? or not worth the $400 big ones..
The first thing I would like to address is the advantages and disadvantages of the arrows. Because this is essentially what sets it aside from the Passport 8500, occasionally touted as having equal or better detection range than the v1. (I have read many reports and do not buy it, but suspect... Read full review »
great detector but beware of new radar guns and RDD's
I've been a fan of the V1 since its beginning back in 1992. Mike Valentine is one of the inventors of the original Escort detector, the only truly good superheterodyne detector in the mid-1980's. One thing led to another, he left his partner and Cincinnati Microwave and resurfaced a few years later... Read full review »
Fun for the whole family!
My wife and I went on a 2 week trip driving approx 6000 miles in our new minivan. We brought along two friends. I bought the Valentine One and hung it on the windshield. I told my wife that sure, $400 was a lot but we can always return it when the trip is over and get our money back. NOT A CHANCE!... Read full review »
New V1 vs. 8500... Again
I'm sure your all tired of reading about these 2 detectors go head to head. I know I was because I too was shopping for the best and there was no definitive answer. Through the web the 3 best out there seemed to be the V1, the Escort 8500, and the Bel 980. While all 3 are excellent detectors, the... Read full review »
King of the hill!
Having been interested in detecting radar ever since the 70's, I have tried them all. The "Escort" was always known as "The" radar detector to have, and the standard by which all others were judged.
When deciding between the industry's current top 2 performers (8500 and the V1), I went with...

the best.
I was looking over the reviews on the V1 and found that the people that don't like it are not living where I live, I live in mass. and they use rear radar everyday. I stand a chance of getting hit in the rear more than in the front. I drive an average of 100 miles a day with the V1 on the whole... Read full review »
