There's a new music beef cooking; can you smell it?

It's not the new Nelly diss track aimed at Chingy (what could those two possibly be beefing over? Whose music sucks more?), and you won't hear a song about it on any radio show or mixtape. No, this newest beef is between Apple and Sony,... Read full review »

Good Device, BAAAAD Software

Pros Style, 40GB Capacity, Color Screen, Camera Linkage. Sound Quality.
Cons Software, Firmware, Navigation. (Did I mention Sofware?),
Recommended it? No

Very stylish and well made device. Too bad Sony had to turn this work of art over to their sotware developers for the firmware and software. Both seem EXTREMELY buggy, however it is hard to tell whether the SonicStage computer software is mangling the tag information in my files or the device is... Read full review »

Pros Good Hardware
Cons Inefficient storage of playlists. Playlist has 1000 song limit. No car charger.

I purchased a Pocket Vaio VGF-AP1L due to all the hype about it and because I generally like SONY products. However, it has several very serious deficiences. I now really wish that I would have bought an IPOD. Here is a short list of the things I hate about this player:
1. When I copy a... Read full review »

Past Experience:
I own a flash-based Creative Muvo (128MB) mp3 player. However, this marks my first HD based mp3 player purchase.

Research:
I knew everyone and their brother had iPods, but friends told me that they were prone to HD failure and as such were constantly being sent... Read full review »

Pros 40Gig, great design and excellent playback . Good battery life and digital camera image...
Cons If you haven't got a computer, how do you get uploads to make this great?
Recommended it? Yes

This is for me a beautiful piece of Sony design. It is simplicity itself to use especially capturing CD from my collection via the SonicStage software supplied. I have no interest in MP3 (although there is a software upgrade available to those who do need it) being a long-standing fan of Sony's... Read full review »

Pros Solid Construction
Cons Proprietary format, poorly designed navigation, wasted color lcd

I was in the market for a new MP3 player to hold my collection of about 7000 mp3s. I saw the Vaio VGF-AP1L player on ECost and was immediately attracted to it. When I received the player two days later, however I could not have been more disappointed. These are the reasons that I'll be sending it... Read full review »

Cons Don't expect very "loud" sound from this player.

I have bought this sony mp3 player from ecost website for $229. First thing I did on receiving the product was to update the firmware. It works like a charm from then on.

This player comes with a small software (apart from sonic stage) into which you can drag and drop mp3 folders. The... Read full review »
