Body wash made for men is usually scented in a manner similar to aftershave or cologne and Axe is a company that wrote the book on this type of scent. Axe doesn’t deviate from its successful scent formula very much and most all of its products have similar aromas. Another example of a product that sticks to the Axe standard is Axe Kilo Revitalizing Shower Gel. Shower Gel Facts and Figures:
Axe Kilo Revitalizing Shower Gel is a green- colored body wash. The gel is clear, not cloudy, and is reasonably thick. The scent is almost exactly the same as that of aftershave.
Axe Kilo Revitalizing Shower Gel is dispensed by squeezing it through the small opening in the press- top plastic container. The gel is then spread around the body to work up a lather, then rinsed clean. Ingredients:
Axe Kilo Revitalizing Shower Gel is made using Water, Amino Methyl Propanol, Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Fragrance, Glycerin, Cocamide MEA, PEG 5 Cocamide, PPG 9, PEG 150 Pentaerythrityl Tetrastearate, PEG 6 Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Menthol, Tetrasodium EDTA, Etridronic Acid, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, and Red 40 Lake. Final Thoughts:
Axe Kilo Revitalizing Shower Gel is another entry in the Axe shower gel catalog; another of multiple Axe personal care body wash products made for men. Unilever owns and manufactures the Axe brand and its products are all made with men in mind.
I have used many products in the Axe lineup and I find little difference among them. They almost always have an aftershave- like scent and Axe Kilo Revitalizing Shower Gel continues this trend, with a scent that is even more like aftershave than the others. Opening the bottle and inhaling the vapors, if I didn’t know this was body gel, I would swear I was smelling aftershave. It is par for the course with Axe body washes, but it is even truer with this particular scent than with others.
Axe Kilo Revitalizing Shower Gel produces only a moderate amount of lather. The label claims that this product produces “ultra lather”, but this is an exaggeration and an unnecessary one at that. Extreme lather is not necessarily a good thing because it can mean more effort to rinse. The lather produced here seems just about right and it rinses off in seconds, even if you have a low- flow showerhead like mine.
Axe Kilo Revitalizing Shower Gel has a scent with some staying power. It doesn’t last for a full day, but it does last throughout a good portion of the day- at least long enough to get through a workday at the office and still be detectable. The label refers to the scent as “seductive” and while that may again be an exaggeration, I have been told more than once that the scent is appealing to members of the opposite sex, so Axe obviously knows what it is doing when it formulates this and other Axe scents.
Overall, Axe Kilo Revitalizing Shower Gel is a very good shower gel and yet another Axe product that is above average in quality and very masculine in its aroma. It is quite a bit pricier than other shower gels, but it does work quite well and the masculine scent is sure to be a hit with men who don’t like the floral or soapy scents so common with other body wash products.
