The Bottom Line:
If your small business or nonprofit needs an easy-to-use, reliable answering machine with telephone menu capability, this is your answer.
This unique, low priced answering machine functions like an expensive 2-line PBX. You can design an elaborate telephone menu and set up multiple voicemail boxes. It can take 2 incoming lines (standard or VOIP). We use ours for a community theater and our patrons can use one phone number, but still have the benefit of using two lines. We have the phone company do a "call forward on busy" to our second line, so it's a seamless 2-line utilization. Using the settings for optimal voice quality, we can have 45 minutes of voicemail stored, which is the best I've found.
The unit is small, taking little desk space, and it uses no cassette tapes. Voice quality is good, and can be adjusted to the user's liking.
Phone menus are a valuable asset and make your business or nonprofit appear more professional. They also save your staff time by answering 80% of callers questions. We set ours up for theater directions, play descriptions, ticket information, etc.
Remote msg retrieval & phone menu programming is available, of course. Customer support with the developer is a unique opportunity, and the provided instructions are very complete.
I researched many options and almost went with an intriguing free software VOIP system called 3CX, but I couldn't get reliable voice quality over the internet.
(I am not a Datalabs employee, just a fan!)
