An Earthquake of fun
Most of the Quake II hype has been about the graphics. Go figure. The graphics are more complex than GLQuake, but I wouldn't call them hands down "better." Once you start looking at games using 3D accelerators, graphic "quality" is not really an issue anymore. All 3D accelerated games have good... Read full review »
To Quake or not to Quake?
Quake II, even after Quake III, is still very popular. So popular that is it very hard to find someone that doesn't enjoy this game. ID Software knows how to make games and even Quake I, the very first of its kind is still being played by hundreds of quakers.
If the classic shoot-em-up...

Quake is great!
After buying quake 3, and playing it for awhile, I was forced to return back to quake 2. This game for me has been much more fun to play than any other death match game on the market. Ive played just about all of them, and quake 2 is by far my favorite.
Quake 2 is limited as far as how...

A Golden Oldie? Nope, just Golden
Quake II is still today an extremely popular game today. The graphics give it the "Quake" look that's just undefinable. Sound is excellent especially hearing the Railgun going striaght through you opponent and hearing his agony at the same time, or hearing the explosion for you rocket and the gibs... This IS the best of the 3
Quake 2 is definitly the best out of the 3 quakes. I like the graphics better then Quake 3, don't ask me why. And I LOVE the overall way of playing. The best is getting on with a bunch of friends on a fast server that is the real fun. You run around shooting your friends which you know you want to... Read full review »
Do violent video games desensitized kids?
The reason I bought QuakeII was because my friend let me play it on his computer and I thought it was the best game ever. After playing the game I realized that there was a lot of blood and gore. Since we were playing with a voodoo 3 it looked real. Real enough for a disturbed kid to not be able to... Read full review »
DEATHMATCH,CTF Q2 HAS IT ALL
Quake2 is one of the best games released. Quake2 released late 97 ripped it up the entire year. It revolutionized the multiplayer scene. Many clans for deathmatch and ctf(capture the flag) began to develope and online tournaments were being developed. Over 20 detailed levels,10 weapons such as... Read full review »
A standard in PC multiplaying!
Ride anyone's rocket lately?
The multiplay deathmatch genre became very popular several years ago. Having had some success already in that venture, Id software released a sequel to Quake: Quake II (nifty title, huh?) Now, Quake II is an aging (but good) standard by which all other...

Not only Quake, but the ULTIMATE Quake
Ok, so really there's not enough in this set to warrant calling it the "ultimate" anything. Quake was always a game I wanted, because it was one that I never got to play when it first came out. Even as the wave of newer and more impressive first person shooters hit the market, I still wanted Quake... Read full review »
PC Software - Games/First Person Shooter - "Quake II"
Relesed in Winter of 97, (Christmas time! :) ) Quake II was the follow up to one of the most popular games ever, the original Quake.
Gamers gave it mixed reviews. Up until recently, it's multi-player death match was unmatched in gaming, until the new wave, Half-Life, Unreal Tournament, and...
