Pros great products, excellent customer service
Cons all little expensive, find used ones on ebay
Recommended it? Yes

I just wanted to say that I have owned two Tough Traveler carriers (Stallion and Kid Carrier) and they are both great but what has really been the best part is the outstanding customer service that Tough Traveler provides to me every time I have called them with a question or problem. They are all... Read full review »

I recently decided to add an addition to our ever expanding collection of babywearing parphanalia, In my searches for a framed back pack style carrier I came across many brands.

I quickly nixed the evenflo's and the gerry's and really felt that I was looking for something with more gravy... Read full review »

Pros Our son loves it and is happy for hours!
Cons Strapping a 20+ pound child on your back is work.
Recommended it? Yes

As parents we spend a great deal of time transporting our little ones. Our son is the type of child who absolutely refused to stay in a stroller for more than a short time. So, last year when we were planning a trip to Washington D.C., we decided to opt for a backpack. We did lots of research and... Read full review »

This is the "cult" kid pack

Pros Strong, durable, easy to use
Cons You're carrying another human
Recommended it? Yes

Tough Traveler is the underground hit for kid carriers. Made by a small company in upstate NY, these are MADE IN THE USA and are quality. They are more expensive than their counterparts (Kelty, Evenflo, etc) but they are much more durable and are just a more solid pack.
The great features... Read full review »

Pros easily adjustable, padding, free standing
Cons expensive, rain hood extra.

I'm not a backpacker or a heavy-duty hiker, so I was a little hesitant to buy such an expensive backpack. After wearing my 10 month old daughter in the backpack at our local Farmer's Market I knew I made the correct decision. It's so easy to zoom in and out of foot traffic with the baby on your... Well, actually he IS heavy. That's why we stopped using our cherished front carrier and purchased the Tough Traveler Kid Carrier about four years ago our son was 4 months old. We selected Tough Traveler because we like to hike and we wanted something that would be comfortable for both us and our... Read full review »

Pros Durable, comfortable, safe
Cons Harness hard to put over the head
Recommended it? Yes

I bought this pack in 1990. It turned out to be one of the best investments in baby items that I have made! I had tried to use a Snuglie soft front baby carrier and couldn't even get my son into it by myself. The Tough Traveler was easy and safe to use, as long as the baby has good head control. My...
