You get what you pay for
This Toshiba unit was sitting right next to a SONY unit at Best Buys. It cost $20. less and had similar features. I bought it and it was easy to set up and played tapes back real well, except when I tried to play back SLP (the extended play tapes - you know when you can record for 6 hours instead... Yes, it's ONLY a VCR...
We wore out our ten year old Sharp VCR and needed a quick replacement VCR to keep the kids quiet. We already owned a Toshiba 50H71 HDTV and we loved the quality of it and hoped the VCR would be the same. Well, we haven't been let down.
