Pros Many formats recognized, great picture, great sound.
Cons Spotty on playing VCD's. chapter number not on display at all times.

Pros The best dvd player i have ever owned
Cons i have found none, (well a lighted remote control)would be nice.

Pros Quality image, flat design, many features, very light with out battery pack.
Cons A little heavy, expensive battery pack ($200, I think)

I looked at them all before deciding that I did not want any that I found in the stores. Pros When working, should satisfy the consumer. Tremendous flexibility for the price and good...
Cons Failed. Warranty totally off radar as a practical way of resolving problems.
Recommended it? No

Setup was easy, I've sold the stuff and was a tech.
This unit is feature packed. Plays everything and had the desired outputs.
Until I put a co-ax cable on it, the outputs worked fine. The on-board decoder worked, the picture was fine through

This player is not quality. Will not read store bought dvds after one road trip last year. Now after contacting Toshiba Customer Solutions they want me to pay shipping and a minimum $60.00 labor charge to fix the unit under warranty?? What kind of warranty is that? Pros Great defence against a mugger who wants to take your player.
Cons Rotten picture. Poor design. Price too high.

I purchased the SD-2900NS (no clue as to what "NS" stands for..."no satisfaction", maybe...)at Best Buy for 279.00 (they were willing to match Circuit City's price...). The high resolution was appealing, higher than of any portable DVD player I had heard of. However...

Pros Great picture, decent sound, large screen, elegant look.
Cons Noisy, poorly laid out remote, flaws in reading DVD's.

Pros Excellent, excellent picture. Great sound. Easy set up. Small.

I purchased this today at Best Buy (59.99) as an inexpensive replacement for my Xbox, which is now in a different room. I have a 32 inch Toshiba television with the component inputs and a nice receiver (very high end).

Pros remote
Cons Heavy, discontinued battery and stops working in a very short time.
Recommended it? No

This unit was great when we first got it.  It lasted less than 40 hours before it completely stopped working.  It was never used in a car, never touched by a child, never dropped, hit, abused in any way what so-ever.  When I contacted Toshiba, they quoted $96 for repair, plus shipping.  If we had...
