Great little laptop available on eBay cheap
Although this is not a current new model any longer, it is still a great buy on eBay for about $250 (as of April 2007). Still strong enough to do anything you need with a proven XP OS rather than the hassle of Vista and lack of compatible drivers and software.

Great Product, would buy another Toshiba

January 4rth I installed the Kingston 512MB RAM, the factory installed 256MB makes it display about 768MB or 769MB.

Serious overheating problem
Like the previous reviewer, we bought our Toshiba Satellite A65 in August 2004. It worked fine for the next few months, but by April 2005, it was overheating and shutting down frequently during CD burning, importing of songs, or multi-tasking. I believe i've bought this laptop for $699+tax. killer deal. loved it, wireless built-in, Windows XP, DVD/CDRW. 3 USB's... then went out and bought bunch of little gadgets for it, mini-mouse, USB memmory card, GPS, etc... Everything worked great!
However, battery life is way too short!...

Good computer for the money.
I've had mine for two years now, my warranty just expired and all I used it for was a new battery. I have had no trouble with this machine at all.
I've read comments about overheating and shutting down, which I experienced also, but found that a good cleaning dislodged some serious dust...

A very poor product
I purchased an A65 laptop through Costco. Within one year it started to fail. It overheated and would shut down repeatedly. I took it to a Toshiba repair store. They had to replace the power board. It took over a month to repair the computer because the first three replacement boards were faulty... Read full review »
