Tom Tom to the rescue
The Tom Tom 910 is a very good GPS with a good 3D perspective for following the map. The voice prompts are accurate to the point of what lane to be in for multiple highway changes.

Our First GPS
We bought this GPS when we got lost in Washington D.C. Although it helped us find some great food, it did not include many of the sites we wanted to see in the area (no "landmarks" or other just POI). Replaced FIVE TIMES!!!!
my 910 was the first one I bought. Feature packed but not perfect
TomTom's reputation as a leader in GPS systems was what prompted me to choose this system. The price was competitive with a similar model from Garmin, but the TomTom had a few more features.
