I would buy it again

Pros Seems well built and worked for years with no problems.
Cons Not available in local Big Box Store.
Recommended it? Yes

We have used this toaster for several years, and it worked perfectly all that time. Then some family members moved in with us.  They began mistreating it in ways that it could not withstand.  They were in the habit of "slamming" the handle down, and within a couple of weeks, one side... Not the greatest toaster.

Pros works
Cons Poorly Quality
Recommended it? No

I didn't want to spend alot of money on a toaster and the Toastmaster T2040 Dual Control 4-Slice Toaster was priced good but the quality was definitely less than I expected from the Toastmaster brand.  The toast does not toast evenly on both sides and the light-dark setting is hard to adjust... Pros Big slots, dual controlled, Toasts 4 slices at once.
Cons It quits working properly in just a few short months.
Recommended it? No

The very first toaster my husband and I ever had was a small 2 slice toaster that we received for a wedding gift. We used that toaster for about 12 years.
Our family was growing bigger so we decided it was time to get a new bigger toaster. Our other toaster still worked but we threw it out when... Read full review »

Toastmaster T2040 Isn't a Master at Toasting

Pros looks very elegant, doesn't smudge as much as most white appliances
Cons toasts slowly and inconsistently, only toasts the surface, odd textures, poorly designed...
Recommended it? No

There are certain things I expect from a toaster. I expect the heating elements to turn red when the toaster is in use, providing a visual cue that it's working. I expect the toaster to let me find the right setting and retain that setting from that point on. Most of all, I expect a toaster to... Read full review »

uneven toasting

Pros Good design
Cons Toasting is uneven from one side to the other.
Recommended it? No

Good looking unit but is not good at doing what is should be doing, push down on the lever and take notice that one side is closer to the heating element than the other, hence one side is toasted more than the other, if one side is perfect chances are the other will be burned. Read full review »

JUNK

Pros NONE
Cons Quit working, and it has it's own mind when to pop up.
Recommended it? No

I had one for about a month, being single I toasted approx. two loafs of bread, and one side quit working. For a family, probably wouldn't last a week. Don't waste your time and money buying this. Read full review »

Toastmaster Dual Control –; Wide 4-Slot Toaster

Pros Doesn';t take up much space on the counter; does a fair job in toasting.
Cons Isn't always 100% reliable in its toasting abilities; has a "pretty blue...

I guess I was spoiled by my previous toaster that I received as a gift 20 years ago. I used that toaster everyday for the entire 20 years, 7 months that I had it. So when the day came that it heaved its last breath, the first thing I did was think about crying; but instead of doing that, I headed... Read full review »

spend more money and save the hassle!

Pros cheap
Cons cheap
Recommended it? No

We just bought this toaster in the silver/black color. Sorry to say this was the only reason we bought the toaster other than it being 4 slotted. We recently changed our kitchen decor and were looking for the all black/stainless look. Being that toasters are so inexpensive to buy and we've never... Read full review »

Pros Nice idea.
Cons Simply doesn't work well.
Recommended it? No

With three kids, a four-slot toaster is a must in our household. Unfortunately, we didn't do any research before we headed to the store and just picked this one out because it was the cheapest on the shelf. There's a reason it was so cheap.

This is the worst appliance we have ever... Read full review »

Everything falls through the Grid...

Everything falls through the Grid on the inside! The poptart label on the dial is tacky. In order to stop the taosting mechanism, you have to really pull the lever back up, thus casuing your food to slide through the "auto toasting grid" Read full review »

Do not buy, It does...

Do not buy, It does not perform like it should. Toast are not browned even when set at darkest setting. It does not let you push the toast back in again when it pops up, you have to wait before you can pop the bread in again. Very frustrating. Read full review »

A New Toaster for the WWF

Pros Nice Looking box. Pop Tart Feature.
Cons Handle will not stay down unless you slam it.
Recommended it? No

You need to be a pro wrestler to slam the handle down hard enought for the toast to stay locked in the toast position.
The quality seems to be just fine and the design is very nice, but I have a hard time not knocking it off the counter when I give it a full bodied handle slam.

Who designed this thing?

Pros "Looks" well made, and probably will last a long time.
Cons Doesn't work worth a darn!
Recommended it? No

I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how this product ever got to market. I mean, did it go straight from the drafting board (of an engineer who'd never designed a toaster) to the store shelves? Didn't they build a prototype and try it out to see if it would work? I'm not talking about a... Read full review »
