Why did I get rid of my older popper?
I got this popcorn maker as a gift because I love hot-air popcorn over the microwave brands. I like putting what I want on my popcorn without having to coat over the oils that microwave bags have.

Spits out hot kernels rather than popping them.
This popper is a disappointing replacement for an orville redenbacher hot air popper that had konked out. The toastmaster gets the kernels hot, but for some reason they mostly just fly out of the popper and scatter across the kitchen - some land in the bowl and then pop, scattering popcorn... Piece of junk
This popper spits out roughly half of the kernels unpopped. It also makes a miss by not directing the kernels into the (large) bowl. It spews unpopped kernels all over the counter top and floor. For such a simple mechanism, it's hard to believe they could screw it up this badly. Read full review »
The Un-Popper .... crap
I bought the same popper at Le Gourmet Chef with their brand on it. Obviously nobody ever made popcorn in it. It would be a great prop for a comedy movie where you try to catch the un-popped kernels shooting out of the popper into your mouth ... and probably end up choking to death...JUNK Read full review »
Should not be sold the way it works.
We bought this for popping corn without having to buy the microwave bags of corn. After we loaded the corn to be popped and turned it on, many unpopped kernels started popping out along with the ones which popped.
