Pros Landline phones mean you will not be dependant on electricity
Cons The buttons on top make it harder to see who is calling
Recommended it? Yes

Well, Hurricane season is here…On June 1st those dreaded words were broadcast on every television station across South Florida as well as all the major news networks… The recovery efforts are still going on down here, with 17,000 people still living under damaged roofs, only protected by... Not A Bad Phone For Nine Bucks

Pros Cheap, functional
Cons Caller ID display, handset does not hang firmly on the base when wall mounted
Recommended it? Yes

We had one of those old Trimline phones of before-I-was-born vintage mounted on the wall in our kitchen at home for as long as I can remember. Everyone was happy with that, but unfortunately it wouldn't fit on the mount after we put in a DSL filter, so we needed a new, simple, corded and... Read full review »

Pros …
Cons …

The phone for my land line wouldn’t be a big deal except that cell phones don’t like to work in my house. I do spend a lot of time in my room either watching television or writing reviews. On the rare occasions where I need to buy a phone, I try to get one with caller ID. I don’t really need speed... Read full review »

Pros Cheap, caller ID features, attractive
Cons cords are not removable, takes 4 batteries.
Recommended it? Yes

Introduction
We moved to a new house with caller ID which we've never had before. Since I didn't want to spend a fortune on phones but I wanted to be able to use the new caller ID feature, I opted to get 3 of the GE 29267GE3 Corded Phones for placement in various areas of the house. So far, so... Read full review »

Not Worth It

bywysiwyg9 Mar 29, 2006

Pros The black color is a good choice because it hides any stains from your hands.
Cons Phone cord, display, directions
Recommended it? No

The curl cord between base and handset is only 1 foot in length, when in a tight curl before pulling on it, making it impractical for home or office use. This cord is locked in the base of the phone so the only way to lengthen it is to spend more money and add an adapter and then a longer cord... Read full review »

Pros One of the few slimline corded wall phones on the market.
Cons Short non-replaceable cord. Unlit caller ID screen.
Recommended it? No

This phone comes with a very short cord, and it's PERMANENTLY ATTACHED on one end so you can't replace it with a longer cord. What in the world is THAT about? Read full review »

Basic, I'll give it that.

Pros unlimited call time, easy-to-use key functions (like dialing, volume change), cheap
Cons unnecessary parts, difficult to use after length of non-use, not very many features
Recommended it? No

I have had this phone for a number of years. It's rather strange: the phone plugs directly into the wall. what about the base you say? the cord between the wall and headset coils underneath the base, and the base mostly just serves to keep the receiver turned off. After a few months of not using... Read full review »

Pros The Looks & Features
Cons You get disconnected easily because of the hang up button too close.
Recommended it? No

I bought it from BJ,s because of it's slim look, color & features, but I was very disappointed with it because every time I use the phone, I get disconnected because of the poor design of the hang up button which is too close to where you put your ear, so if you move your phone so your shoulders... Pros Easy to use, attractive, inexpensive.
Cons Average analog voice quality; cords cannot be removed or replaced.

I recently purchased the latest version of the GE Slimline corded telephone with caller ID. We have owned two earlier models for about ten years and fearing that one is about to kick the proverbial bucket, we decided to purchase a new one.
