Good sound, but pricey and somewhat flimsy
I bought these because they received good reviews from the industry press and because, as a performing musician, I used Shure microphones for years and loved them.
First thing I noticed when unpacking them is that they came with a little case. You are supposed to roll them up and store...

Not too bad, but you can do better
I bought these Shure E2C's because I listen to my iPod at work all most all day. I work construction, so the work environment is very noisy and I needed something that wouldn't make my ears hot (like the Bose headphones) but would still keep outside noise down.
They really did a great job...

You want quality intimate sound for $100? You got it.
Open the package for these, the entry level model of the Shure canalphone line, and immediately you become aware that much has been put into providing a quality product. Starting with the 'phones themselves (backed by a hearty two-year warranty), one finds their cords to be thick, rugged, and... Read full review »
Improved sound quality, difficult to fit
I have had these for a few days now. Most of what I've read on them says it takes at least a week to get comfortable with them, so I'm going to stick with it for a bit. These earphones are of the canal variety meaning, you have to push them into the ear canal to get a good seal and sound isolation... Read full review »
Great Design...Unacceptable Sound Quality For The Price
It's a rare occasion when my personal experience with a product differs so greatly from that of other Epinion reviewers, but in regards to these earphones my experience was the polar opposite of nearly every reviewer.
My opinion and review are based on the following:
FIT: I do...

Yes, I made the right decision... Yes I did...
First off for reference I'm going to say a few things... I stay away from anything audio wearing the name badges of Sony, Panasonic, Samsung, etc... Those companies produce some great products, but for audio I stick with names like Grado, Sennheiser, McIntosh, MartinLogan, M&K, and now.... Shure... Read full review »
The E2C's Are Shure To Please
I purchased the Shure E2c headphones about three months ago with some reservations. It seemed like these headphones were rather expensive, especially because they don't feature any type of noise canceling technology. The design seemed very rudimentary, and they looked uncomfortable. Boy was I... Read full review »
These are the ONES
I wanted to replace the OEM earbuds with something 'great'. I read the reviews and decided upon the E2C for several reasons. The first being "Isolation" earbuds - these are simply ear plugs that allow a sound tube to go into your ear. They block out other sound and allow the music to enter your... Read full review »
Shure-ly You Will Like These
Running tech for loud concerts, been there. Airplane rides (cause I am a traveling salesman), done that. Different situation require a different headphone until now. The Shure E2s fit in with most need in most situations. They have clean highs and mids, snug noise blocking fit, and good sensitivity... Read full review »
NO BASS! Beware.
I have owned at least 10 different MP3 players, have bought the Sony earbuds(not good), and a slew of others off the rack at Best Buy. I use my MP3 player when I workout, I listen to loud, bass heavy music. My biggest problem at the gym, is they blast their music so loud, I end up competing with... Read full review »

Shure E2c-n Sound Isolating Earphones (Black)
In sleek black, to go with some of today's newest MP3 and other audio players. Originally developed for professional musicians, the E2c combines Dynamic MicroDriver speaker technology with a sound isolating design to deliver rich, full-range sound while blocking outside noise -- ideal for enhancing your listening experience with portable MP3, DVD, and CD players as well as all other audio sources. The E2c's in ear design works like an earplug to block background noise naturally. This enables you to listen comfortably at lower volumes -- even in loud environments. And unlike bulky headphones utilizing active noise cancellation technology, no artifacts are introduced into your listening experience. Sound isolating earphones are also much smaller and don't require batteries. The E2c's speakers are constructed with studio-grade components, producing outstanding audio clarity that allows you to hear your music like never before. The E2c's cables pass behind the ear - out of sight and out of the way -- to provide a more comfortable, discreet fit. Plus, the E2c comes with a stylish, compact carrying case. The cable spool inside provides a convenient, tangle-free way to store your earphones.
