Pros Perfect for the entry-level SLR shooter who isn't certain what lens to buy
Cons Soft at 200-250mm, that's about it
Recommended it? Yes

I shoot a Canon 40D for fun, mostly things like birthday parties, horse shows, and some sports. These events place a premium on being ready for anything in an instant. The Tamron 18-250mm is the lens for the job.

The zoom is, well, extreme. Even on a 1.6x body, the 18mm is still pretty... Read full review »

Pros Price, great range, replaced many lenses, 6 year warranty(canon is one), good image, ok...
Cons Images could be sharper, no IS but for this price I did not expect it.
Recommended it? Yes

My primary persuasion in purchasing this lens was to reduce the amount of lenses I have to lug around.

Carrying a Canon 30D, Canon 17-40 L, Tamron mid zoom, and a Canon 70-200L f2.8is makes things very heavy and clumsy. Not too mention it just takes the joy out of an outing or vacation as... Read full review »
