This is the worst lens I ever had
I bought this lens for landscape pictures and unusual special effects. I had the SP90mm and the SP24-48mm already and I was very impressed by the quality of these lenses. Superb all-purpose lens
Purchased this lens four years ago to replace stolen 28-105 2.8 Tamron.

Buy it, if you can carry it!
Bought this lens for less than $300,- in Bangkok, Thailand.
I'm using it now for almost 4 month with my D70s body. And what a lens!!
The pictures are incredible sharp and the auto-focus is pretty fast and accurate. Stop down to f5.6 and you will get great portrait picture with this...

A nice versatile lens.
I realize that if I wished to pay at least twice as much money,I could have gotten a sharper lens.I compared various Canons and other makes such as Sigma,Tokina and Tamron.After some time of a/b comparisons,I found that this Tamron zoom, wide angle/telephoto lens was the one for me.
