Cons User manual.

Why is the Sunbeam 5891 Bread Maker better than sliced bread? Because it makes so much more than bread! I have been tickled pink with my Sunbeam 5891 Bread Maker. This is the second machine I have purchased from Sunbeam.

I am not much into baking and I am not really a person who spends a lot of time in the kitchen. However, I do like the smell of fresh bread and I like to make bread now and then.

I had an old bread machine that was cruddy and disgusting from all of the use I have put it through. I used... Read full review »

Pros Quick, easy to use, easy to clean, price
Cons It broke, have no idea why

Nobody who knows me would ever accuse me of being Martha Stewart. Much more like Stuart Little, always getting something knocked over, spilled or ruined. That is me trying to bake bread in bread loaf pans, from scratch, just my mom and grandma before me did. They succeeded. I have not. Sooooo...the... Read full review »

Pros easy to use, cheap, house smells like bakery,
Cons I gained weight from eating too much bread.

I moved to the US from Europe and I am deeply in love with this country and its inhabitants. The only thing I cannot stand is American bread. It is a biggest wonder for me why to make bread you need to include 50 ingredients and why it tastes so awful. Buying good bread became expensive, so I tried... Read full review »

We received a Sunbeam 5891 Bread Maker as a Christmas present about one year ago. My husband and I received it from a family member who knew my husband had been making different types of bread in our oven. I must say he had varied degrees of success. Some of it was quite good, but some would be... Read full review »

Cons Recipe book is sub-par.

I've had my 5891 about three weeks. My wife and I were going to consider getting one for Christmas, but when we discovered that Amazon would deliver one for a total price of less than $40, we decided not to wait.

This is bread machine number four for us. Of the machines we've owned, this... Read full review »

Pros Price!!, good learning tool for a novice
Cons bake cycle a bit long, provided recipes incorrect
Recommended it? Yes

The Sunbeam 591 is my first bread machine and there has been a significant learning curve in making good bread. I used up 5 bags of flour before I started to figure out the tricks. But I have had it now for a year and once I learned the tricks, my bread has been very good. Functionally, my machine... Read full review »

Pros Cheap, efficient, great bread.
Cons Not enough recipes included, rambling owner's manual.

I posted a negative review on another bread machine last week and went out and purchased the Sunbeam. I have to admit, I was really apprehensive about buying Sunbeam from Wal-Mart but after having awful luck with my previous machine, I decided to give Sunbeam a try. I'm so glad I did! My bread... Pros Does a great job at an amazingly low price
Cons Terrible manual
Recommended it? Yes

I'd like to just echo the aggregate Internet opinion of this machine: It does a great job and is amazing value for the price, but the manual is terrible.

I first tried their recipe for French bread and it came out with a sunken top and a mealy, heavy texture. So I chalked that up to the... Read full review »
