Sunbeam Mixmaster Heritage Series 2347 - Mixing It Up At Maximum Volume

byrkingfish Jan 16, 2009

Pros Retro look. Quality fit-and-finish. Includes stainless steel mixing bowls.
Cons No flexibility with bowl rotation feature. Stiff-working buttons. Man... is this thing...
Recommended it? Yes

In my opinion, the best room in the house is the kitchen. My baseline culinary activity begins with twice-a-week bread baking duties, with a cake or pie thrown-in as an occasional tasty treat. The winter months are especially kitchen-oriented due to decreased responsibilities outdoors and the... Read full review »

A good light-duty stand mixer.

Pros Reasonably constructed, good power, easy to use and carry, affordable. Very attractive.
Cons The design of the bowl and rotating mechanism may seem flimsy to some users.
Recommended it? Yes

The Sunbeam Heritage is an inexpensive metal stand mixer that uses dual beaters, similar to those on a hand mixer. The unit has two motors: One to rotate the beaters, and the other for rotating the bowl. The bowl rotates the opposite direction of the outer beater. According to Sunbeam's literature,... I was sooo excited to get a stand mixer from my husband for Christmas. I had always wanted one and finally i had one! I read all the directions on using it and even thought some of the recipes that came in the booklet were good. I decided to make a yummy buttercake that my husband loves to thank... Pros roomy bowl for big batches of dough, easy to clean, affordable, and is darn cute.
Cons Release button for the beaters is a bit difficult to push, especially with arthritis
Recommended it? Yes

I bought the Sunbeam 450 watt Heritage mixer recently and have been very pleased with it. I previously owned a Hamilton Beach, vintage 1968, that finally wore out and this replaces it. This Sunbeam works even better than my original mixer and is darn cute besides! (I have the red colored one and... Read full review »

Pros stylish, fast, durable, easy to clean. easy to use
Cons heavy, buttons hard to push, head hard to raise up

This standing mixer was a Christmas gift to be two years ago. I haven't used it for heavy duty baking and it is still in good condition. I liked the many settings though they don't seem to be adequately named. If a recipe says to "cream" something and I set it to the "cream" setting, it is WAY to... Read full review »

SUNBEAM * THE ULTIMATE MIXER

Pros Very heavy duty; space to add ingredients while mixing, rotating bowl; shifting bowl...
Cons Can't rotate bowl backwards, tilt release sometimes hard to work.
Recommended it? Yes

I learned to cook on a true vintage Sunbeam Mix Master - my mother's model from the 1950's. I grew up with it and when I got my first job in the early 1970's I bought my own stainless Mix Master. It was my first purchase for my "hope chest".

That Mix Master took me through three children... Read full review »

Pros Attractive
Cons Very noisy, defective; those with arthritis or a weak grip will hate the tilt-release.
Recommended it? No

We received this as a gift about 18 months ago.

We loved the look and feel of it, and the speed-control dial.

(By the way, those with arthritis or other hand-strength problems will NOT appreciate the force required to push the tilt-release button)

But I thought it was... Read full review »

Cons Heavy. Like others mentioned the tilt button can be difficult.

I received this mixer as a wedding shower present in June of 2007 after having registered for it at Macy's. When I did my registry I knew I wanted this mixer in particular because I wanted a mixer that I would be able to walk away from while it beat or mixed in things like egg whites, which are... I bought this mixer for my wife for Christmas this year (less than 3 months ago). She asked for a mixer and was quite taken with the look of this one. She simply asked that we not spend a fortune on a Kitchen Aid model for now.

The mixer is made of die-cast metal giving the impression of... Read full review »

Pros Serves it's function well.
Cons Too powerful, and noisy.
Recommended it? Yes

I purchased the Sunbeam Heritage 2349 Stand Mixer about two years ago at a discount store for a little more than $80. I'd always wanted a stand mixer, but wasn't about to shell out a few hundred dollars on a Kitchen Aid, especially since I'd never used a stand mixer before and I wasn't sure if it'd...
