Pros Even way back when, Insomniac games were awesome.
Cons No cons to Spyro, he is as fun today as he was then.
Recommended it? Yes

PS3 is awesome. While playing Ratchet and Clank Future, my son and I thought about how far video games had come. EA games may be one of the biggest studios, but to us, Insomnniac was always one of our favorites. Way back, before their fantastic Ratchet and Clank series, Insomniac brought us an... Pros good story, great character!
Cons cannot think of any
Recommended it? Yes

Spyro the dragon is the second best Spyro game in the series. Behind only "Year of the Dragon", this game is only #2 because there are more abilities in "Spyro: Year of the Dragon."

~The Story~

There are five dragon families, and they each live in a separate world... Read full review »

Pros A vast World to explore, comical enemies, great music
Cons Too short, not very challenging
Recommended it? Yes

In an age and time when RPGs cloud the game universe, it's hard to find a fun game to just sit down and enjoy as a game, not worrying about the storyline or character development. That's why this is a marvel... that even after 8 years, Spyro the Dragon still hasn't lost its virtue. Released back in... Read full review »

Pros Easy to learn, entertaining, can spend hours playing it
Cons Almost for certain need a memory card, not much to do after you beat it
Recommended it? Yes

This was one of my first video games for Playstation. I was able to figure it out though with no difficulty. Clues along the way made it clear what your objective was and how to go about doing it.

The game itself is similar to Mario type games. You become Spyro the dragon and navigate... Read full review »

Cons Hard to beat
Recommended it? Yes

Spyro. Spyro the Dragon. Spyro the Dragon is my favorite PlayStation game, and that's saying a lot. Well, it's my favorite series at least. Anyhow, on with the intro to Spyro. Spyro is a dragon. He's more or less a baby dragon, but he's pretty brave. Well, as brave as you let... Read full review »

Pros Easy to figure out, easy controls. Great graphics/sound/music/etc.
Cons If you want to beat the game entirely, (get every gem) it gets extremely hard.
Recommended it? Yes

Spyro the Dragon is a game about a dragon... and yeah. Anyway, you control Spyro, and help him through the levels. You try to get as many gems as possible, because Gnasty Gnorc (I hope I spelled that right...) stole them all. He turned the gems into evil beings, and when you kill them, you get the... Spyro: A Classic No Brainer

Pros Very cute. To me rather easy and no real need to read the instructions.
Cons Though it is cute there is very little thought involved.
Recommended it? Yes

Though Spyro is a feel good type of classic it lacks the thought that many later playstation games required. This is a good family game because the whole family can play it and enjoy it. The graphics were groundbreaking for their time but are not all that special by today's PS2 standards.

Pros Fun, addicting, cute
Cons Too hard at times

Spyro is the best game I have played for playstation so far. It very fun and even funny at times. This game is very cute and perfect for children. It's as violent as other games out there. I think for people who are good at video games would find this one too easy, especially the bosses.

Pros Easy controls, great graphics, overall fun game to play
Cons Some parts can get frustrating, might be tough to fully complete without the strategy...
Recommended it? Yes

I first got Spyro the year the game was released, which was about 1998, I can't remember exactly. Yet only today did I completely finish the game, not because it's so hard that it takes 3 years to master, but rather just because I never managed to play it through, stopping at the first frustrating... Seeing Spyro the Dragon for sale at KB outlet, I decided to give it a try. I must admit, the game was a definite pleaser to me. Overall, the qualities of game were more than average though some areas did prove over wise. The story begins with Spyro, the purplish dragon, with a rather spicy... Read full review »

Pros Graphics, controls, gameplay, fun factor
Cons Kind of easy

This dragon can't fly really! Or swim! And he seems to have a growth stunt or he is the youngest dragon ever! But, this game is still sweet! And since this game is pretty easy, hardcore gamers may play this game as a break from other, harder games. Or, novice gamers may play this game to start off... Read full review »

Playstation Substitute for Mario

Spyro the Dragon is Sony?s answer to the popular genre that sprung such hero?s as Mario and Luigi, and Sonic the Hedgehog. However, this is not Sony?s first attempt. Crash Bandicoot was made to draw the attention of those Mario and Sonic fans from the competition, and in my opinion, failed... Read full review »

Spyro has now been celebrating his third birthday since Christmas 2000 when Spyro 3 was released in stores. Yet by my clock, he's still new and fresh, and for me, he's been around for 1 1/2 years. It's quite awhile, but the original Spyro still has its original charm.

Pros Fun the first two times around still a good platformer game for those platformer geeks...
Cons stale story and getting a little old, but overall still a good game.
Recommended it? Yes

First and foremost this game was not made for the people who are over the age of 12. but for those die-hard platform junkies out there this game is for you. The game follows the tried and true game play you have come to expect from a Spyro game. The graphics are nice, the game play is good, the... Read full review »

This is the first game I have ever finished in my life. That says something about the game. It hooked me for long enough.

Pros great graphics, amusing, challenging, ability to save place in game
Cons occasionally frustrating
Recommended it? Yes

Platformers are my favorite sort of video game - the first title I played was Super Mario Brothers and I've preferred similar games ever since. Spyro is a 3-D platformer, but it's still absolutely delightful.

Not many Playstation games could be considered "cute," but this one definitely... Read full review »

Spyro Offers a Mental Break For Gamers

Pros Cute graphics, enough challenge to keep interest, makes a good first game
Cons Low replay value, annoying music, obscure levels of difficulty

I'm a nut for fantasy stuff, especially dragons and unicorns and the like. So I had to try out Spyro the Dragon, with the cute purple dragon as the main character. I got my copy from MrSwap.com pretty much for free, but it retails for about $19.99 now as a PlayStation classic. Its rated E for... Read full review »

Pros Fun game
Cons can be difficult at times
Recommended it? Yes

Believe it or not, I actually got a sore thumb from playing this game. I'll get to that later, though. You play this game as a small dragon that has to free the adult dragons. You also have to collect jewels scattered throughout each world. Freeing the dragons gives you a save point in case you... Read full review »
