Soyo 24" Monitor MT-GW-DYLM24D6 a good value
For the sale price of 25% off MSRP, this monitor by an established manufacturer of mainboards is a good value. As should most any contemporary monitor, it syncs to every signal I have attached to it and the appearance is everything I expected: plenty of brightness with a good range, and the colors... Best (only?) 24" monitor < $300
I bought this monitor as an upgrade to a low-end 17" LCD monitor I was using for 3 years. I purchased this in November 2007, and I've been using it heavily ever since, so I think I can make a good assessment of the monitor.
Image Quality

Another Office Max - Soyo 24" Topaz S Monitor
Updated 3/3/08: Still have it and it still works fine -;). No additional hot pixels have developed. I have also been very pleased with the uniformity of the image - my previous Samsung 17" 172N LCD or current NEC 1970NX (with a *very* good in terms of colors matrix) both are noticeably less... The monitor is flimsy and has cheap plastics and speakers, but it did have a really nice display for about a day. Then it always indicated that there was no video present (hooked up... REFURBISHED = BROKEN
I bought this monitor from an online retailer as refurbished for $199. I understand the risks with refurbished products, but they should at least be reconditioned to working order. Well, it worked for one day then broke. It would not remain on at all, so I had to send it back to the retailer and I... Read full review »
Office Max - Soyo 24" Topaz S Monitor
It includes power and both DVI and VGA cables and has a 1000:1 contrast ratio. I have it set at the defaults of 50% brightness and contrast which is both more clear and brighter than the 21" Gateway 2000 Vivitron (Sony) tube monitor sitting next to it. It would be nice if it had USB connectors and... Read full review »
