Pros Works well, features are nice but not confusing
Cons Not the best setup for gaming device hookup
Recommended it? Yes

As every other electronic device in my house, this was purchased for me by someone else and delivered to me in the form of a gift. I had owned two DVD players, which had also been gifts, and had sworn I would not be a DVD gal. I liked the durability of VHS tapes-and still do. I don't like how you... Read full review »

Pros Sony reliability, Performance
Cons Small Buttons/Remote Control
Recommended it? Yes

I grew up in the 1980's, and remember this era with the fondest of memories. Most movies had a plot, as well as having an incredible amount of action and suspense. My family is really into movies, and I still remember when we bought a Betamax player. After a few years, VHS format became the... Read full review »

Pros Plays DVD Audio and SACD discs.
Cons Simulated surround sound is terrible.
Recommended it? Yes

In December 2006, after reading a number of reviews of DVD/VCR combo machines, I decided that the Panasonic would be the best overall with Sony a good second choice. But when I checked out both machines and spoke to the salesperson, I changed my mind. She told me that the Sony had a better laser... Read full review »

Incompatibility with Satellite Receiver is Disappointing

Pros Easy to setup and install.
Cons Incompatible with satellite receiver.
Recommended it? No

I wasn't aware that this or any similar unit is not satellite compatible, so you can't program the unit to record in advance of watching the program. Also, the unit will record only the channel which is currently playing. Other than that, it is easy to setup to use the basic functionality. I... Read full review »

Pros DVD/VHS unit.
Cons Not reliable.

Bought this unit less than a year ago and have been using this for about 10 months. Watched several DVDs and VHS. DVDs now won't play properly. Colors are not displaying. Red, Green and other colors are all displaying as yellow. Very annoying. SONY customer support recommended an exchange for a... Read full review »

Pros Great picture. OK sound. Nice to have VHS and DVD options.
Cons Stopped functioning after 8 months.
Recommended it? No

I had an Sony SLV-D360P for about 8 months and I was very happy with it. It would play DVDs that my older DVD player would not. But then it started only periodically sending ANY signal to my TV. Eventually, it just sat there and it was about as functional as a block of wood with a DVD slot would... Read full review »

Pros Theory of having a DVD/VCR combo unit is nice.
Cons Hard time reading some DVDs, Slow queing up, instant replay takes forever
Recommended it? No

My Sony SLV-D360P is about 6 months old and I have maybe played a dozen DVDs. Now it is having trouble reading some DVDs.

It doesn't seem to be a very good unit considering the same DVD is able to be read on my computers DVD drive.

I would not recommend this unit. I have read... Read full review »
