My opinion after two years...
I've used the EX51's, the EX71's, some Shure earbuds (e2c's, I think) and the BOSE QuietComfort 2. Mostly I use them at work to drown out other noise, listening to either classical music, instrumentals or nature sounds.

Muddy Bass and Overpriced
The sound spectrum is weighted toward the bass, to the neglect of the mid and upper sectors, thus leaving the sound with a hollow, flat feel. Some listeners like extra bass, fine, however the bass here is muddled. And the high treble is fizzy at times.

Bright Sound, Lower Bass
I just bought these in-ear headphones. I find them comfortable since you can choose one of three rubber inserts. The cord is long enough, and one side is longer than the other so you can have the main part of the cord dangle toward the place where you keep your music player.
