Sony's STILL At It!
state of the art home theatre technology meets the legendary sony ES expertise in the unbelievable DA333ES model. This receiver has it all, 24 bit processing, for multichannel digital decoding, (dolby digital and DTS) 32 bit processing for sony's exclusive Digital Cinema Sound modes. 120 watts by 5... It drives 5 pairs of speakers!
My DA333ES drives 5 pairs of speakers (and a sub-woofer) in my home with the volume knob at 1/3! I wanted a great surround receiver for my audio system as I have 2 300 CD changers, DVD, 55 inch TV, Direct (satellite) TV, VCR, and a cassette player. I just recently replace my old Sony STR-DE525 reciever with the Sony STR-DA333ES... I have to say Im pretty upset with the performance of it. Although the specs look great, the sound quality, easiness of use, and durablity, sadly was just a tiny bit better then my old Sony reciever. Sure you might... Read full review »
Nice Amp - A few flaws
This is a great amp, as most ES equipment is nice, but I do want to bring up two concerns in Sony's design:
1: The sub-woofer preamp out mutes when the speaker selector is turned off!
None of the other preamp outputs mute, and none of them should! It took me several hours to find out...
