Pros Reception; digital tuning; 25 total presets; takes 1 AAA battery; battery life;...
Cons Bulky headphones; no preset station scroll button
Recommended it? Yes

I had originally purchased the Emerson E18876 for $20 to listen to while working out, but found the armband provided became a hindrance while moving and restricted my arm's flexibility. I'd thought that by having an armband radio I could have a unit I wouldn't bump into all the time on my hip and... Read full review »

Full-featured radio with TV audio and weather

byb_howler Dec 13, 2003
4 Helpfuls 5 Helpfuls Was this review helpful? Comment
Pros Price; TV audio; clock that keeps its setting between battery changes; pretty good...
Cons Mediocre headphones; only gets TV channels between 2-13 (VHF only); somewhat thick
Recommended it? Yes

I wanted a compact portable stereo radio with AM and TV audio since I could not find an MP3 player that included all three. That pretty much narrowed my choices to this Sony model and three models from Sangean. The Sony M37V has almost the same features (including weather bands) for much less... Read full review »

Great Walkman

Pros Small and Lightweight, Hold button, digital display, Great battery life
Cons no auto scan, reception very sensitive, button labels wear off after time
Recommended it? Yes

I like using this unit, the batteries have lasted for a couple months, i'm impressed by that. It does get used lightly though. The hold button is helpful because it prevents the station from being changed and I use it to prevent the unit from being turned on when I don't want it to.

I work out in a health club that has 4 TVs broadcasting their audio through low-power FM radio transmitters that have a range of about 100 feet. Each TV uses a different FM frequency. To listen to a particular TV, you must tune your personal FM radio to that particular frequency. To facilitate... Read full review »

Good Reception Indoors

Pros Good reception and stereo sound quality. Nice compact size.
Cons Supplied headphones - Prefer to use the Sony in-ear earphones.
Recommended it? Yes

I bought this radio to use primarily indoors so I am very pleased with the reception it gets. If you don't like a song that is playing on the radio, it is so easy to switch stations using the memory presets.

Before I decided on the Sony Walkman radio, I tried a couple cheaper compact... Read full review »

Pros It is STILL a "SONY" Product. Casing is durable. Childproof. Worthy gift for...
Cons Radio signal reception capability needs to be boosted.

I got this inexpensive equipment at $10.99 in a Sony Store Cerritos Outlet (USA). It says it's "refurbished" but I can't find anything wrong. I thought its FM mode only plays MONO as the manual and specs is silent about this feature. To my surprise, as soon as I plugged in a new AAA battery, turned... Read full review »

I brought this little radio back in February when I started riding my bike again. I like the fact that I can use the TV tuner and tune to channel three and retransmit the audio from my VCR or cable box and listen to it privately without having to run extra wires and cable to my headphones.

Walkman SRF-M37V - Poor Design and Reception

byjonking Jul 21, 2005
2 Helpfuls 3 Helpfuls Was this review helpful? Comment
Pros The TV feature is cool for many programs not available on radio programming.
Cons Poor design and reception
Recommended it? No

The power button could not possibly have been designed more poorly.

The power button is not recessed, and on the front of the unit. Throw it in your gym bag, it turns on or off... put it in your pocket, it turns on or off. You simply cannot use it in a reasonable fashion without the unit... Read full review »

Pros great Am reception and sound, plenty of features and presets, weather band
Cons below average sound and reception on Fm
Recommended it? No

I recently purchased the Sangean DT200v which was touted for it's exceptional Am.I was a bit dissapointed in both the reception and sound quality of Am ,I decided to try out the SRF-M37 from Best Buy since it is S20 less than the Sangean ,the Fm reception is poorer ,strong nearby stations spilled...
