Best hear buds
The Sony MDR-EX71SL are the best hear in buds I have used. But you have to be SURE of the following facts, or you will be very disappointed on the performance:
.
You MUST use the correct size hear pads to fit correctly INSIDE you hear channel. If you don't, you can not hear correctly the...

Full Spectrum, Noise Rejection, BUT CORD MATERIAL FALLS APART!
I AM REVISING THIS REVIEW AFTER A COUPLE MONTHS OF USE.
(UPDATED COMMENTS ARE IN ALL CAPS)
I purchased these headphones at a local electronics store. With the guarantee and the ability to return locally, it seemed like a low-risk buy. IN HINDSIGHT, I SHOULD HAVE PAID EXTRA FOR...

Great Value
I just bought these headphones for $40 dollars at a local Best Buy. I broke my Shure E3C's :( and I needed a afforadble replacement. I decided to get these and I do not regret it. Nothing touches the sound quility of the Shure's, but these were decent compared to most of the other in ear headphones... Read full review »
Only Lasted 3 months
I don't have much to add to the other reviews, but just to summarize:
* I loved the sound isolation. I would listen to them on the subway and they definitely dampened the external sound. It wasn't complete but it definitely lowered NY subway sounds so that I could listen to my music...

What are you guys talking about?
For the price these headphones sound amazing and after two years they still going strong. Yeah the cords get a little tangled, but so what? How many headphones of this type don't tangle? The quality is there. Compared to the headphones that come with the Ipod and PSP, they're perfect. They ipod and... Read full review »
Improvement over Ipod Headphones
If you would like headphones, which sound much better and much more comfortable than your original Ipod's headphones than these are it. At street price around $30 you simply cannot go wrong. Sound quality is decent although no the best. Isolation is ok, but dont compare them to Shure. The wiring is... Read full review »
So much sound! So little package!
Don't know what others are complaining about. I am amazed that such good sound comes from such small speakers. They blow away the standard iPod buds. Even though they are not specifically noise canceling they do manage to block out a lot of background noise from the cubicle farm. I especially like... Read full review »
Has anyone seriously evaluated these
After reading positive reviews in many forums - I bought a pair, figuring these would give me equivalent sound quality (to my apple ear buds) while comfortably doing a better job of insulating my eardrums from outside ambient noise (in style).
WRONG!
They must have used drop out...

Compact package, mediocre sound, tangled cables.
In-ear sound isolating earphones seem to be all the rage these days. These are probably the entry-level players in that field, at about $30 street price.
They come with three sizes of rubber gaskets; the smallest is still a little large for my ears. They seem to fit comfortably in my...

Terrible service from Sony when my earphones fell apart within four months.
While the sound on these earphones was excellent and their comfort level was high, the coating on the wire began to come off within two months in one place and another place a month later. While a product can fail, calling Sony turned into a miserable experience, requiring more than an hour to get... Read full review »
