Sony's reputation is safe with this home theater system
I had been shopping for a replacement for my old home theater system for the past year or so. The old system was 15 years old and had huge big speakers which my wife felt were an eyesore. There was nothing wrong with it in the electronic sense, but it could not handle the newer digital encodings... Read full review »
Great Sound with lots of neat features
I bought this unit at Fry's to replace my old home theatre system which was no longer fulfilling my needs. I had purchased the old system (Norcent) when I had a regular 27" non hd tv. It had an integrated dvd player that no longer worked so I was just running my new 37" HDTV through it and had my... Read full review »
Best HDMI setup for the money
I purchased my Sony HT-7000DH system at Costo for $500 and I got a pair of speaker stands with it. I needed the speaker stands so it worked out.
I have this system connected using HDMI cables for video and Fiber Optic Cables for audio from both the DVD Player and my Dish HD Tuner. My TV...

Great Sound with Awesome HDMI Picture Quality
I replace my old Samsung "un"-surround system with the HT7000DH and couldn't be more pleased. When I went to Best Buy the first thing that I asked was what the best system for the least money was. I was pointed to... Read full review »
Nice if you like to run lots of cables
If you want one connection to your monitor from this receiver, and expect this receiver to have the juice (brains) to assign your video inputs to one HD (HDMI or Component) output; look elsewhere. Essentially you must run multiple video inputs to your monitor for every video source you have. This... Read full review »
OK for small setup, but won't cut it in a larger room
I'm a value shopper, so I was hoping this system for $450 was going to do a decent job in my room. I had to crank it up to 67 out of 70 to get the movie "Independence Day" to make it sound like a movie. The speakers just don't pack enough punch. The subwoofer is good enough, but the other speakers... Read full review »
