Pros Good reception, battery operation, weather band.
Cons None for us.
Recommended it? Yes

I have owned this radio for 2 years. One of its best features is that it can be plugged it or run on AA batteries. The battery feature is a must for weather purposes. Anytime the power has gone out we have been able to rely on this radio to keep us informed and updated on our local weather. The... Read full review »

Pros Solidly constructed, excellent reception, built-in AC cord, decent volume, long battery...
Cons At this price? Seriously, you are joking, right?
Recommended it? Yes

I was given this radio (at my request) as a "birthday appliance" by my wife. I use it primarily to listen to NPR. Here in Honolulu, our public radio station is located fairly close to a 50 KW "rocker/rapper" station (both in frequency and distance). My other portable (Panasonic) does not have the... Pros Great AM performance The tuning LED
Cons Uses 4 AA batteries - would like to see C cells for longer battery life.
Recommended it? Yes

My mother in law loves AM radio late at night when she can't sleep. When her 25 year old radio finally died, she asked me which radio to replace it with. I had no clue, so I started looking for reviews. I bought this with a few recommendations from the internet, and was quite surprised. So much so... Read full review »

Pros Very good sound and sensitivity on AM-FM and TV sound.
Cons Poor selectivity on FM, and poor sensitivity on the weather band

I purchased this radio at Frys electronics for about 27.00 including tax. The ICF-36 is a moderatly small portable radio, that runs off of 4 AA batteries or you may plug it directly into a ac outlet. It recieves AM-FM, tv sound of channels 2-13, and the national weather broadcast. Below I will rate... Read full review »

Pros Size, AC/DC, Sound Quality
Cons Weak Weather Band Reception. FM hard to tune in to station.
Recommended it? Yes

For the money I paid ($19.99 on sale)I am very pleased. My wife wanted a radio for the bathroom where she gets ready for work in the morning and this radio sounds great.

I will have to agree with the other review about tuning sensitivity on the weather band. I have several weather radios... Read full review »

Pros Good sound on AM and FM.
Cons Radio band simply doesn't function.
Recommended it? No

If you really want an emergency weather radio, look somewhere else. We live in Tampa Bay, an area which has at least two NOAA weather stations supposedly within range, and neither could be heard on this radio. It's not bad as a general-purpose radio, having good sound on both AM and FM. But don't... Read full review »

Pros Great looks and nice list of features.
Cons Poor tuner and audio quality!
Recommended it? No

I purchased this radio in hopes that it could replace a small portable radio that had poor reception. I purchased this ICF-36 online through www.sonystyle.com - what a mistake that was.

Out of the box the radio looked great. It had all the features I wanted and the dimensions were not too... Read full review »

Pros Good sound Good reception
Cons Mono plug
Recommended it? Yes

Solid body. Sturdy. Huge antenna. Does a great job picking up stations where other radios have failed me. 4" speaker is great. Get a stereo to mono adapter from Radio Shack for a few dollars and you then can use your walkman headphones. Has a high/low tone button. Simple to operate, on off button... Read full review »
