I am going to keep this short. I tried 3 recent Camcorders and this seems to be the best. Compared to Canon Vixia and my reviews of those, the Sony has similar design, no manual focus or eyelevel viewfinder in back. But the Sony camcorder does better then the Canons I tried in low light and focuses faster. Compared to Canon Vixia m30 I think this sony has way better stablization, color more real and its just better then Canon in almost everyway but by a little. Not that the Canon m30 is bad mind you but the Sony has more definition better and more megapixels and better focus.It seems more responsive in everyway including the menu system. Its tiny and light and has a great hard drive at 150gig, Its 12x zoom is better then Vixias more expensive consumer models too. Its hard to imagine a better small hd camcorder anywhere. So to sum up I like the Sony a little more based on more megapixel, better low light and higher zoom 12 to 10 (not a big deal) and of course Sonys faster focus, more responsive and better stablization. The only thing that Canon's best consumer model has is a bigger, not necessarily better lens. When it comes to camcorders, Sony usually wins.
