To perfect the ergonomics and the incredible technology of this ultra-lightweight camcorder (weighing only 460 grams minus the battery), Sony gives you the option of watching your video creations on your HD-ready TV via the HDMi output (HDMi cable not included). Plus, the HDR-SR5 camcorder is compatible with memory cards so you can take photos in 2304 x 1296 pixel resolution. With Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround sound, the HDR-SR5 is also equipped with a 2.7" touch screen for precise focus.

Cons Isolated SUPPORTING PROGRAM/not compatible with any others! Weak zooming speed, very slow...

Good picture but you have a BIG PROBLEM, the only way you can see your movies are through Sony's "Motion Picture Program" and you can't change that to any regularly used programs, i.e., mpeg, etc.. You have to spend hundreds more to see your movies on iPod or Zone, etc.!

I bought this one in Dec 08, 07. I have been using this since then for my son's different activities as he is just 5 months old. Its very easy to use and the battery life seems to be very good. HD shots are so good and great. I loved this. Read full review »

Pros Picture detail excellent. Great for commercial work. Long recording time.
Cons NO HDMI cable. No cover for port jack on bottom. Possible moisture exposure.

Excellent Picture. Easy to use. Good sound. Compatible with Vista. Good night lite and clear picture in dark. Holds about 11-12 hours of recording time but the battery that comes with it lasts 2 hours so buy a back up battery. Does not come with a HDMI cable. Buy from Sony $49.00. Has no viewfinder...
